how lol was oliver goin down in the two last centre bounces like a bag o spuds

The umps conditioned them to flopping to the ground for frees. They looked confused that it din't work.

Dmac looks like a rock god.
One of the great recent success stories.

DMac, Rice, Battle, Gresham and Sinclair are a large part of where the improvement is coming from.

EDIT: Also Clark, and I thought Billings was good today, and Steele belted the genetic misfit all day.

As frustrating as this year has been .. and we’ve got some deadwood we need to clear out.. you can see some positives

Webster career best year
Sinclair fantastic when played on wing
Paddy is developing and now when he doesn’t necessarily have many touches he’s impacting the contest and competing
Gresham will is becoming a star
We have learned rice can play
We have learned Phillips can play
We know coffield and Clark will be players
We are learning battle can play
We are learning McKenzie can play !!
Acres pre injury was showing what he can do/ needs midfield time
Still think white can play and Austin showed a bit
Plus add a high draft pick

It’s been a tough year but there are some signs !

Loving the McCartin/Membrey/Battle forward line! Kicked 7 between them in each of the last two games. Bruce is too good for VFL but there's no spot for him ATM.

Throw in Gresh in stellar touch and JB delivering it beautifully I50 and we look pretty dangerous now!
X100 StKing11……….you can't help but wonder what on earth the exact problem/s has been for a fair chunk of the season.

Although I didn't see the game......from the commentry, it reminded me of certain games during 2016/17.

I asked for Steele to put up a good performance pre game and while not statistically outstanding, the influence he had was immense. Well done young man.

Geary and Armo with the ultimate leadership as well. Great efforts.

He put the clamps on Oliver. Oliver is usually up for 30+ most games so it was fair effort.

Great win, but Melbourne look right out of sorts at the moment.

Hickey wouldn't survive a flogging of that proportion, Longer is one of richo's boys.

Austin shouldn't have been dropped for a green Joyce.

Newnes, Weller & Dunstan all still struggling would be dropped if they were younger.
Dude, WTF

What a win.

The midfield managed to probably break even (besides the ruck) but what was pleasing to me is that our back 6 were terrific all day. Led by the man Jake Carlisle we were able to stem the flow despite the Dee’s having 12 more inside 50’s than us.

It’s also the best out forward line has worked together for a long, long time. Josh Battle has been the story of the year for me. He provides a strong mobile target, but he is as tough and hard as anyone. Paddy, Membrey and Gresh all terrific. Our forward half looks very promising with some good coaching IMO.

Add some quality into that midfield and things will change quickly for the Saints!

He reminds me of a cult leader, should get a black turtle neck and a big neck mandala thing on a chain.

Ha ha, he does have a bit of the Jim Jones/Koresh look about him, just needs some bad 70s style framed glasses and he'll have 100 followers in no time! :D

Austin is very unaccountable and messy with his kicking. At least Darragh didn't get enough ball to turnout over as much. Webster hopefully walks back in.

Couldn't of beaten a bigger bunch of flog players with an even bigger bunch of flog supporters, sniping, cocky, disrespectful losers the lot of them.
Stick that up you're a$$ you cocky flog knob campaigners. A million years of top 5 draft picks and still haven't cemented a finals spot. Relocate the parasites to the Gold coast, they're a blight on our game

Yeah, Battle has just enough James Sicily with out the dumb **** brain fades.

But bigfooty told me that this week's selections were the worst all year?!?!?
Well....a lot of big footy told us that...…..I'll fess up.....I wasn't too impressed with our selections but as several on here pointed out....with some senior GOP's back...it gave some experience.

Was initially surprised to see the stat that Melb were less experienced games/age wise than us......but our GOP's back certainly boosted our numbers up.

It worked...just !!!!

Gresham at the MCG last 3 games;

v Melbourne 19 disposals 4 goals
v Richmond 15 disposals 6 goals
v Richmond 16 disposals 5 goals

Looking forward to seeing what he could do on the MCG in September.
