ABSOLUTELY there.....thank Faaarrrrkk the siren went....as one poster said it was like re living the Port game......the last 5 mins ere torture.

GREAT WIN.

NO ONE saw that coming...….although a few on here had the ECI confidence going.

You can only check in if you checked out Saint Watto!

Go the Saints!

That ball movement was electric. We completely cut them up on the outside.

This list is still a long way off, but there are green shoots. Add Acres, Long, Webster & Coffield back to the best 22 and it is a promising young list.

We have to be ballsy this off-season and make a call on some players. Newnes, Dunstan & Longer will not take this club forward.

All extremely limited players, I have no idea how Newnes is getting a game. He literally has zero physicality, routinely gets shrugged like a first year player.

Gresham at the MCG last 3 games;

v Melbourne 19 disposals 4 goals
v Richmond 15 disposals 6 goals
v Richmond 16 disposals 5 goals

Looking forward to seeing what he could do on the MCG in September.
He's absolutely uncanny at the G.

With the above in mind was wondering pre game if he'd kick a bag again......and he did.

Kudos to you Gresh.

It's bizarre isn't it.

If someone can find what it is....bottle it and place it in Matt Finnis's wall safe at RSEA.

How did Armitage go ?
You can see why he's important to the side but his body is failing him. There were moments where his body just couldn't do what he wanted it to do.

Koby Stevens would have been that guy but he looks done so I think we need to find another bash and crash player who can cover the ground better than dunstan and Steele

He looks 10x better in space on the wider grounds. Zones might actually help him.

He still looks like he mentally holds himself back. He gets a coupe of goals then goes internally inside himself. He needs a really good psych to get him to believe. He should have had 5 goals today and once he starts to do that regularly he'll be alright, he'll be off.

Great to see us come out and play for four quarters for once. Carlisle and Gresham absolutely incredible. Membrey, Sinclair, Savage, Battle, Steven, Steele, Billings very good.

Although I have to say if we had picked Hickey and Austin ahead of Longer and Joyce I think we would have won by at least five goals. I can't recall a more impotent ruck performance than Longer's effort today and I don't think anyone could honestly say with a straight face that Joyce is better equipped for AFL football than Austin right now. Hickey probably would have been thrashed in the hitouts just like Longer was but at least he then would have been able to pick up 16+ useful possessions, lay some tackles and win some clearances. Longer was obliterated in the ruck contests and then let Gawn do as he pleased around the ground for the entire match while contributing absolutely nothing himself. Newnes was also complete garbage other than the goal. Joyce was a bizarre selection in a backline that already lacks composure and skill and he was exposed pretty badly a number of times. I don't like to bad a first gamer but I just don't understand his selection at all.

Credit to a couple of guys under a lot of scrutiny in Armo and Weller. Armo had some shocking moments where his old man back just couldn't bend down to pick up the ball but overall his game was very good and that goal was crucial. Weller's defensive pressure in the first half was immense and directly resulted in a number of turnovers that lead to goals. Good to see Paddy becoming more reliable in general play and making better/quicker decisions although it's a shame he couldn't convert more of his chances. Jarryn McKenzie sure does a lot of good while frustrating the hell out of me with some terrible kicking. And holy crap Hunter Clark is going to be a gun - maybe the most composed player on our list.

My preferred changes for next week

Out: Brown, Joyce, Longer, Newnes
In: Austin, Webster, Hickey, Freeman

My prediction

Out: Brown, Rice
In: Webster, Gilbert

The umps conditioned them to flopping to the ground for frees. They looked confused that it din't work.
Steele will cop a week for the first one. Punch to the stomach - hilarious though when you see the replay from behind. Steele punches Oliver in the guts and Oliver goes down like a pack of spuds.

Steele looks across the square at Armo with arms spread saying I dunno what happened and Armo is p****ing himself laughing.

For all their faults Armo, Geary and McKenzie were fantastic for today.

Carlisle was fantastic, Gresh was superb, Battle better not do weights over summer - he'll seriously injure someone if he puts another 5kg's of muscle.

As for the run and spread - wtf did that come from!!!

Dmac is resurrecting his career, his desperation and pace have been excellent -- Battle looks bloody great -- Armo and Sav played like it was contract week -- Sinc best game for the year -- Jack and Gresh are stars -- Paddy very good signs, is it bye bye Brucey as the three current talls work very well together -- Billings positive -- Carlisle gun -- Ross questionable, was he being played behind the ball? -- Newnes an odd game -- Steele excellent -- Oliver you are a total joke mate -- great bloody win Saints!!!

I think Newnes is carrying a shoulder. He missed the entire preseason as well. He's off his best but I think he's not 100%.

The Dreamons have way too many slow inside mids. They want Gaff for the same reason we do. If they don't win the inside contest and feed it out cleanly they are shit.

Wait til we take their best player Harmes off them next year.

Yeah, Ross was playing back. He was crucified by the umps but it was working very well for a lot of the game.
