Begs the question if we’re really any good, if we can only beat Adelaide at the MCG by 2 points.

Still, better to have no excuses when De Goey, McStay/Kreuger, Sidebottom etc. are back.

I am not enjoying how our midfield looks when we have both Adams and Mitchell in there, and the one to provide some relief is Pendles. We move like molasses and there’s no overlap run at all.

Jordy is a massive out. JDG Nick and Moore are the 3 blokes that we just have to have fit in September.

The game ball goes to ... big Maso for standing up and slotting a couple to spark a bit of belief in our boys after a prolonged period where none of our other forwards were even looking likely and the game was slipping away.

Great to fight back once again and get the victory but as we saw last year all these close finishes can quickly go against you come September.

Are we giv our team a half time address in a deep freezer? because they sure come out cold & asleep in 3rd quarters.

Yeah our third quarters have been horrible. Was similar last year iirc against the Bombers and the Blues. Need to fix this or it’s gonna bite us on the ar$e in September

Tried to be way to cute throughout. I love the quick corridor handball chains as much as the next guy, but made some boneheaded decisions. Hoping it’s just Bali Brains off the bye. Got it done, take the 4, don’t fall into the trap game next week.

You can think me and my superstitions for getting the Pies home. I stopped watching Kayo in disgust and went out for a long walk in the Canberra cold at three quarter time. Followed the scores on AFL flashscore and that last quarter seemed to go for ever.

It's too difficult on the ticker being a dedicated Pies man sometimes, I swear (but I love it )

Our reliance on JDG is genuinely worrying, if he isn't playing we are a completely different side. I think Adams has stepped up pretty admirably in his wake, but he obviously lacks the weapons that JDG has and yes, like you say, the midfield combination of Adams + Mitchell is about as dynamic and as intimidating as Shuey + Sheed/Yeo.

Ideally, Crisp would've stepped up and filled the void, but he continues on with what is amounting to be an extremely disappointing year.

Happy to tick this off with a win with a Houdini performance #21 but at this point I am waiting to see premiership calibre footy.

Now, I know that Winter is not the time to be playing your best but I would just like to see us take a 27 point half-time lead on the MCG against an interstate team sitting in 8th and turn it into a decent win. Not occasionally but all season long. Make the MCG our fortress. What are we doing in the change rooms at half time most weeks? Seems like we are all toking on a huge reefer coming out dazed and confused.

We nearly spilt the coffee in this one, would have been extremely embarrassing.

Played a good three quarters and one abysmal quarter. All that matters at this stage is the win. We got it. Great.

More evidence today that we do need a second key defensive player. If it's not Frampton, we need to find one in the off-season. Murphy, Maynard, Howe aren't up to it. When a midfield gets on top we are in all sorts against bigger, stronger forwards, and we can't continue to get by hoping that doesn't happen. We missed a GF over this last year.
