What a game. Crows are one of the best sides we've played this year. Hard to stop when they get on a roll. Bank the 4 points and get ready for Gold Coast which won't be easy either.

Howie was so joyously happy at the end of the game. He must have been doubly relieved ....to get the win and to get through the game okay.

I wasn't going to drink, but by three quarter time the whisky and soda had been poured over the ice and were following a well worn trail down my throat.
Players who had disappointed earlier in the game made important contributions in the final quarter - Cameron, Cox, Noble and Murphy among others. But we have some players who have question marks hanging over their AFL ability or are out of form - Johnson, Lipinski and Crisp are three in this category. Lipinski has been criticised for his inability to tackle, but his disposal, considered to be his strength, was really off today.
Thank God for the Daicos boys, Quaynor and Adams who helped keep us competitive.

Dawson was just two bodies clashing. Mitchell and markov both had head high tackles late in the last that were not paid.
Just watched the best Collingwood ruck run on to the ground.

Fantastic result but I had problems watching after half time. Our exciting kamikaze style ball movement and zone has been worked out and is now boarding on careless. We need to make some tweaks if we are to hold our ground and then improve for the finals.
We also need a plan B when exiting our back half. I can't believe after the last few games, that we continue to predictably kick to the same spots and turn it over with an uncontested mark. Teams are leaving our back pocket open for the short kick in and then pressure the next possession to force this kick down the line. F?ck it's frustrating to watch time and time again. I wouldn't mind if we forced the ball out of bounds but somehow we keep putting it down the throat of the opposition talls.
Anyway that's my daily purge.

Elliott was blowing hard in the first quarter, so no surprise he faded as the game progressed. Still plenty of time left for that to change though
