How about the ump 5 metres from the late charge on Mitchell who wasn’t going to pay 50?
The ump 50 metres away, on a worse angle, paid it.
I’m sure a couple of them weren’t on our side, but the others called them out.

Pity he’s now captain of the coasters.
One of the wrong decisions made back in the day.

He's a very good player and it was clear at the time we traded him that he would be. His best isn't near Grundy's best though and we made the right decision. He's the sort of ruck that not all teams would want due to his lack of flexibility and run. My guess is our current footy department would prefer Cameron.

Fantastic result but I had problems watching after half time. Our exciting kamikaze style ball movement and zone has been worked out and is now boarding on careless. We need to make some tweaks if we are to hold our ground and then improve for the finals.

We also need a plan B when exiting our back half. I can't believe after the last few games, that we continue to predictably kick to the same spots and turn it over with an uncontested mark. Teams are leaving our back pocket open for the short kick in and then pressure the next possession to force this kick down the line. F?ck it's frustrating to watch time and time again. I wouldn't mind if we forced the ball out of bounds but somehow we keep putting it down the throat of the opposition talls.

Anyway that's my daily purge.

JDG will help a lot with that. We are v slow without him as one of our key link up players. But its always been a place where we can be exposed. Lippa, Mitchell and pendles need their decision making on song, and to get rid of footy asap, to not hold things up. Adams also hesitates too much.... he also needs to lift if he wants to be a part of our transition footy

Our reliance on JDG is genuinely worrying, if he isn't playing we are a completely different side. I think Adams has stepped up pretty admirably in his wake, but he obviously lacks the weapons that JDG has and yes, like you say, the midfield combination of Adams + Mitchell is about as dynamic and as intimidating as Shuey + Sheed/Yeo.

Ideally, Crisp would've stepped up and filled the void, but he continues on with what is amounting to be an extremely disappointing year.

Almost every team has a critical mid who’s absence impacts performance.

That’s more an issue of the forward set up not 3 talls and seriously we don’t have 3 talls we have 2 sort of talls and a ruckman.

They’re probably not far off it to be honest. I rate them a lot higher than St Kilda and Essendon, and probably Bulldogs on current form too. Their home form has been right up there, so they’ve always had the ability—just a couple of poor away games is why they’re eighth.

In any case I’m quite happy not to peak in June. But given 5th spot has already lost 6 games things are looking as good as they can for a top 4 finish, which is half the battle.

15% of the battle is winning the preliminary final and 85% is winning the grand final.

No, I didn’t think so.

There is still lots to work on. JDG and Sidey can't come back quick enough. Our key forwards are a worry when you compare them to Port and you Brisbane, who are probably Our main challenger's. What is really obvious is that we need JDG, Nick and Mitchell as our starting mids. I have a few reservations about whether or not we can go all the way but that's only because I've seen us lose too many GF'S and in most of those losses, we always had inferior forwards

Think we stole that one and if I was a crows supporter I actually would be be pretty salty, it's not that the frees weren't there it's just where they are in the context of the game, absolutely morale sapping - teams have a problem with Cox because there actually is no way to defend him so they hang off him and give away frees.

Where were your howls of protests when he got traded?
Grundy was streets ahead of him at the time.

I was thinking exactly the same thing, add bulldogs - Bont, Adelaide - Dawson. The list goes on, best part is that our gun mid is as good as any in the competition this year
