As weird as it sounds i reckon if we had kicked our goals in the first quarter instead of squandering.. we could have nearly broken to a 6 goal lead and it could have demoralised them... could have ended up like the dogs game.

Agreed. Thought we had some sort of control at the start but squandered it, and to St Kilda's credit they didn't relent in the slightest.
 
For one of the few times disagree with Smokin's observations - As a rule our kick to handball/ratio is in the top 3 in the league - In saying that about 60% of our possessions on Saturday were kicks - It is usually closer to 70%.

Watched a replay of the game

Four major observations

1) Kicking from defence was ordinary - creating turnovers
2) Final kick into the forward fifty was ordinary ( has happened a few times in 2012 )
3) Handballed more because we lacked a tall target in a hit up position
4) Defenders were plain ordinary - Lost too many one-on-one battles

In saying this would be extremely confident that we could beat StKilda next week.
