Lmao * this club. The last two weeks make me grim as s**t and then they serve this up to pull me right back in. Maybe I should be the Debbie downer every week?

I was the same. Even this game I just couldn't watch it much.

Interesting stats, we smacked them in clearances, they won contested possessions, free kicks. Most stats more or less broke even.

Shit my AFL fantasy opponent has Jack Sinclair, he scored 140.

Thought the midfield did well to keep working so hard given how little the umps were giving them. Gresh regularly mauled and taken high, Tackling with very little reward for HTB or incorrect disposal. Crouch, Steele and Gresh should be our go to guys. We need some more depth to put pressure on the likes of Jones, Billings and Ross for when they dip in form. Ross was actually pretty good tonight though.
Think we need another midfield tackler in there.. Maybe Owens who likes to rack up tackles.. Our game is built around pressure.. Only Steele and Crouch can’t do it.. need another 1 or 2 beasts in the midfield.. Hope Owens and Winghager can both step up.. And Bytel to come back.

How proud am I tonight. One of the gutsiest wins I've seen from the club in soooooo bloody long.
It would have been so easy for them to lose. Restricted bench, tough calls against them all night, big names not on field.
Kept going.

Wood shepherding the ball for King at the end of the game said it all. Wood may not have the skills of a AA tier player, but he's a solid footballer and has a damned good crack when he has his chance.
I don't know how to explain this without it sounding like a backhanded compliment, but much like Daniel McKenzie he's still on the list through hard work rather than talent. Both guys are pretty much essential to our best 22 in my opinion, and the work they've put in means they absolutely deserve their spots.

A real tough win for the club. A good win.

Ultimately, we were so lucky that Carlton couldn't kick straight. They kicked themselves out of a 6 goal win but whatever.

The umpiring tonight was absolutely putrid. Not the free kick count, but what was paid. Even that ridiculous 50 meter penalty to Max King was bullshit. They are ruining the game.

Windhager must be rising star this week, he did very well. Very big bodied guy, he seems like he'd be 25 already.
Paddy Ryder is just turning the clock back. I'm the guy that thought it was dumb to bring him in.
Sinclair. I've loved Sinclair from day 1, he always showed some skill that not every player has, but to see him put together his abilities and improve his fitness and body to get to where he is now - absolutely awesome.
He might be our best draft pick we've developed for a very long time.

Butler was pretty good. He never stopped trying.

best wishes to Butler, Clark and Howard. Not good. That head knock was sickening.
There is another player I wanted to shout out but I can't remember now.

Battle was good. Gresham is a Harlem Globetrotter. What he does looks good when we win but crikey if we lose it can look bad. Tonight he really had it on show. Great stuff.

Highmore had about 6 touches in 30 seconds. Haven't looked at his stats but I hope he stays in the team.

I needed this win.
Who will replace those players

Joyce? Highmore and?

Compound fracture of the nose ******* hell.

I’ve done it on my hands and it’s just yuck. On your nose is ******* brutal

One of my mates had that when he was younger. Even after a reconstruction it still looks ****ed. Really fattened the bridge and not quite 100% straight.

I think Sydney might have taught us a bit. We played a much less individualist game.

Is why we had lost 3 on the trott. Slightly won contested, shat the bed outside.

Reverse it and oh hey, 3 goal win. All well and good to have initial touch and draw people to you to release others, but if you then don't have that release all you do is have a tiny bit of space where you exist and the rest might as well be an ocean, because you are doing SFA in there and reliant on someone else doing shit.

Blues still had things, hell, they had like 15 marks I50 and just scuffed most every attempt this is just a, pretender thing.

Brissie, legit scared as 5 min period they can kick 7+ goals easy, to an extent both the Blues and us can do it, but we require a lot more working components to happen. By comparison, Freo cannot do this, they have a GOP forward line, so sides like well, both of us this match, just need things working and we had more than they did since they fluffed their chances and we halved them.
