How good was Johnson's long goal. Carmichael had about as good a 2nd game as you will see. What a Steal for a mid season pick. Once he gets composure he will be a grade.

Adelaide played well. Commentators and Umpires we're fine.
61% TOG for Carmichael and he looked as good as anyone. Well, except Daicos and Laird but you get freaks of nature.

Out of the MSD, I think he's been the pick of them.

There's more to Nick than being a FON - from all accounts he works bloody hard to improve.

As his famous old man famously said in response to Jack Dyer calling his trademark dribble goals luck . . . . "It's funny you know, the more I practice the luckier I get"

You said it’s the opposite way around so you implied it. Cox had a good game today Cameron still averages more clearances this year.

You think I implied it, I'm telling you I didn't. I leave it to the self-anointed experts to make all the negative comments about players.

Cameron gets more ruck time so hardly surprising he gets more clearances. Even today, he had 80 odd ruck contests to Cox's 40 odd. I actually doubt there'd be much in it if they'd had identical ruck time across the season.

That ridiculous Ginni holding the ball decision that went to Walker. When Walker was holding the ball.

Then the 50 against Pendles.

It had me screaming.

Yeah, I dont usually complain about umpires but there were A few shockers today.

the decision to not pay ginnivan free kicks is pretty concerning.

AJ did very well considering his VFL form was pretty ordinary up forward. Played better at the higher standard, can’t wait for him to start sitting on heads.
He took a great contested grab to set up a goal for.... ??? Anyhow, was a bloody great grab, could've been forgiven for being put off by the body contact and a loose ball would've gone back the other way. 11 and 2.1 with 5 tackles is a very nice debut.

Great competition for Ollie. Nice to have some options. Lets hope they drive each other to improve

Great win.

liking what the youngsters are bringing. Johnson showed a bit, Carmichael was solid, Ruscoe okay.

Oh, Bianco haters, he'll never make the grade right? lol (Of course, one good game doesn't make a career, but those who said he shouldn't be selected were WRONG).
Just as those who said no way would Henry be dropped were wrong. His replacement today in Johnson could well keep Henry out of the team next week and longer. Johnson's 2 goals were important today and he could have kicked more. A very encouraging debut.

Mc Creery seems to be a bit of a last quarter specialist. He was most prominent when the game was tight and tough. Yet another week where his fierce tackling and run have been vital in the final quarter.

And I will quite happily admit I never thought Bianco would make the grade as an AFL player. At the beginning of the game, I thought he looked a trifle overweight. At the end of the game, I still thought him a little too broad across the hips, but he must have generated as many possessions today as he has done in all his AFL games combined.

Carmichael gave us a bit of strength in the clearances and also looked like he will be hard to displace from the side. When both De Goey and Adams return, as well as Grundy, there are going to be some soul searching moments come selection time.

Player development seems a lot better under the new coaching team.

You said the opposite, that’s what the opposite mean. You’re right you didn’t imply you explicitly said it.

Do you reckon? It's early days yet, but Noble has secured his spot in the side and Johnson looked really promising on his performance today.

That was me. I travelled to Melbourne intending to watch the game on FTA TV. No such luck, so I decided to go for a super long walk to the Coach and Horses in Ringwood, but they weren't showing the game either. So I walked several KMs to the Mitcham Hotel.
Got there at half time and watched the 2nd half very nervously. It was actually a pleasure watching with no sound on the TV so I didn't have to hear the BS commentary.

Wondering what they said when Ginni was tackled high, Nada free kick? Also when he got pinged (I presume) for HTB and Pendles queried the umps decision and gave away a 50 for dissent? Good God, I lost it then.🤪
I think it was actually domus .

Nice GG. I agree.

Nah just injuries.

He was given one game in 2020 playing as a half forward when our ball movement was widely panned. But he was a midfielder/winger. C Brown was consistently chosen above him though Broomhead played better in the 2nds. When Brown was brought in, he always was given a run in the middle. Just my opinion, but I kept a close eye on it.

Was my first time experiencing an interstate pies game and what a game to witness!! They had us early when it was so dark and dreary, they turned the lights on and we lit up in the first!! (Was starting to wonder if electricity had made it to Adelaide!!!)
No more needs to be said about Nick, other than is it too late to get Peter to father a few more sons!!
Pendles early on wound the clock back, was a privilege to be there for game 350! (Even got my ugly mug on the CFC Facebook page 😬😬)
Massive props to Carmichael, he was having a mare early on, to the point he really looked out of his depth, but credit to him he turned it around and had an influence!
AJ will be a player, just has that footy sense about him, and the curve on goal 2 was great to see! I particularly liked him getting into McAdam as he was lining up for goal (which he missed!!) good to have indigenous talent again!
Bianco was similar, a bit rusty early but played a great role throughout the game!
The best thing is we’ve got a team that plays for each other, they are like a bunch of mates out for a kick together, was good to see this comraderie at the captains run yesterday, gives a very different insight than game day. You can also see the respect they have for Fly already!
My biggest like from the game was watching every single player sprint from all ends of the ground to get around AJ after his first goal.
We are building something special here!!
That’s enough from me I’m going to drink more beer and eat bbq at the beer and bbq festival! Adelaide does have some redeeming features!!!
Go the mother effing pies!!!!!
