Fyfe back in offers another quality player who can play as much through the forward as midfield.

If we back in Brayshaw, Conca and Blakely to do more midfield as per last week, then it gives us one of our best players (Fyfe, Mundy, Walters) as another difficult one on one match up forward of the play.

Ballantyne named on the bench, but pictured in the forward pocket in the club video announcement of the squad. He looked way off it playing for Peel in the games against WC and EP, all the bad aspects of his game in the last few years magnified - made me think how I only saw Bill Walker at the end of his career at Swan Districts and how I couldn't believe he was ever a champion.
You are correct. Ballas pictured in fwd pocket with being slow, falling over and getting caught holding the ball at WAFL! 9 goals in 8 games. Hope not correct.

If it is Banfield, Hughes, Crowden and Schultz emergencies.

Not hard I know but thought Hayden was one of Peels best against WC. And stats didn’t look too bad last week.

Again, it wouldn’t be hard but he’d be an upgrade on Switta.

Wouldn't mind if it's:

Out: McCarthy and Hughes
In: Banfield and Fyfe

Keep Fyfe up forward with Banfield supporting the midfield and forward line.

If we do go with the three rucks and Fyfe up forward - there's still concern however of the ball leaving our forward 50 too easily. I know McCarthy doesn't provide much defensive pressure but nor will Fyfe.

I'm completely relaxed about the result. A win will keep us in finals contention and give us momentum. A loss will further confirm our need for a significant review/overhaul and get us closer to a top 6 pick (with Henry coming in the second round).

A
Lobb's not a ruckman the way Darcy and Sandilands are.

He crumbed a goal, plucked a mark in the goal square and booted one from outside 50.

Hes a tall agile/mobile forward who works up and down the ground.

We're playing 2 rucks.

At worst we are playing 2.5 rucks with 2 of those absolute liabilities if the ball hits the ground, no other team has come close to this type of set up and there is most likely a damn good reason for it.

Sandilands simply should not be playing if we are really rebuilding.

Am just hoping Fyfe and Lobb play predominately as forwards and pinch hit at the big moments of tbe game
They would make an awesome attack
Imagine if Walters played predominatelt forward with them
Give our young mids more responsibilty with Mundy to guide
Don’t know about Walters playing forward predominately, he tends to go to ground too much one on one & play for free kicks close to goal. The midfield allows him no time for that bullsh.t & you get exposed if you do.
More freedom pushing forward out of the middle if he’s given the license.

Didn't think that re: his performance vs West Coast which was almost a month ago, but both of those games- vs. East Perth and vs. West Coast - the Peel team was smashed in the midfield and the forward entries often went straight to the opposition.

I see he has played WAFL last 6 weeks, but he had injury setback somewhere along the line didn't he. Maybe he's been working back to full fitness through those games because amongst the other things, not keeping his feet, not converting his chances, he also seemed to have lost a lot of zip.

Unfortunately, whenever there's coverage of Peel games lately, the team has played poorly - maybe outside of that, last week vs EF and training he's looked sharper.

McCarthy isn't getting the most put of his abilities and needs to improve, but in the last three years he has kicked the second most goals for our club (behind only Walters) at the same goal per game average as Taberner.

Take away Walters and you end up with the other five named in our forward line having combined for a massive total of 88 goals in 150 games for Freo.

Sure we have injured players but the inability of our Football Department to recruit and develop a forward-line borders on negligent.

If there was a professional board for coaches and list managers they would be before it on misconduct charges.

Ballas is certainty not playing his way in, whatsoever. Schulz should be miles ahead of him if that’s the case. But there’s certain players that bypass that at times.
