Defence was rock solid. Our forward line looking dangerous. Our midfield is still a huge work in progress. Need to do a lot better in clearances.
What was most pleasing is that despite losing pretty much every statistical category, we dominated the scoreboard. Something we haven’t done for a long time. Fast and direct football is in!
Taking the game on gives us the best chance of winning. From preseason to now our errors are reducing rapidly. And our young guys are playing very well. Plus our older heads really standing up.

Conor Nash has found his spot. Only negatives, they smashed us at clearances, contested possessions, inside 50s but we were so much more effective with our disposals, and just the way we ran off each other was brilliant. With Day and Impey coming back could be more exciting times coming up. Go Hawks!

The last 3 years if a team did that, we'd have either rolled over, or got frustrated and given away stupid frees.
Instead, we kept playing footy, and laughed it off, which then rattled port.

A big shout out to all the Hawthorn cheer squad and fans at the game tonight. You could hear you guys in full voice early in the game and even louder towards the end of it. Really awesome to hear that watching at home 
The game is so much more than stats. Efficiency, commitment, team work, having a game plan that incorporates structure but also allows for individuality.
I would suggest that the week leading this was very much like training in the PL, shape and discipline without the ball and speed when breaking.
