I was not saying that Collingwood aren't a good team. They clearly are. Maybe even the best in it.

But the pro Hinkley mafia will use that as a reason to tick off on there being nothing wrong with that performance yesterday, as though everyone will lose to Collingwood by 71 points. Don't worry, Hinkley is still amazing, Port are still amazing. We aren't, we're terrible and he's terrible.
It was a combination of Collingwood being very good and us being really ****ing bad in terms of effort. But there's a reason for that.

I will tell you the very moment where the team lost any hope of winning the game. Q1, 7:46 to go. Port is streaming out of defence - Wines handballs to Rozee who handballs to Butters who executes a long handpasss to Rioli. Rioli then handpasses to Jones.

This is what Jones should have done...either a kick or handpass to a wide open Powell-Pepper:

This is what he did do:

This holding the ball resulted in a goal and turned a 12 point deficit into an 18 point deficit when we had an opportunity to reduce the margin to 6 points...based on nothing but Jones' stupidity.

By the by, I found another glaring example of shit umpiring...and this one is definitive. Note the position of the umpire:

Yep, that's Jordan De Goey, running past the ball and leaving the ground to collect Bergman head high with his shoulder.

But play on. No report, not even a free. Not even a peep from the commentators. Why? Because it's Collingwood, and because they play Richmond next week. The AFL will sweep this under the rug.

We were down by 24 points at this point of the game. It was at this moment that every player in our team knew that the umpires wouldn't look after them in the contest and Collingwood knew they were free to do whatever the **** they wanted and they would never be penalised with a free kick.

After I saw this, I didn't give a **** about this game or the result.

Don’t turn into one of those supporters. You sound like a WCE fan
Pick your poison,

Ether stay a member with a club that is rapidly sinking away from its roots because of the boys club running it, just to play the loyal card.

Or, cancel the membership and make a statement to the club that as passionate fans, we've had enough of our annual groundhog season performances with minimal onfield improvment on a timeloop. Looking 'unloyal' to the so called 'loyal' supporters.

I cancelled my membership at the beginning of last year and so far have not regretted my decision. The day that coward is out of our club, I'll be right back in.

That Lachie Jones play was completely horrific. It didn't cost us the game but it did solidify in my mind that Jones just lacks the basic skills and instincts to be an AFL player.

Some guys have it and others don't. Compare that to watching Phillipou play for the Saints. Built like a string bean and has barely played any football yet still can pick up the ball cleanly and execute under pressure.

Jones has played enough at this point that he should be able to do basic football actions reliably. Every game he plays he looks like straight off the plane Daniel Flynn FFS. A convert from another sport.

I’m not talking about cancelling memberships. I’ve cancelled mine also. Hinkley years brought me back when he came in and turned it around. But he’s done a full 180 and I left because of him too.

But I’m not going to start filling basketball or soccer.
Maybe I’m a glutton for punishment though. I stuck around and watched every Primus game, I’ll watch every Hinkley game too. Although these games feel so much more painful to watch.

A week is a long time in footy but this kind of reactionary running scared football that we play is a hallmark of the Hinkley-Koch era.

Collingwood were awesome.
The umpires were killing us and someone from the club should take a stand like Fred Van Vleet did recently.
The contested possession count was horrific.
Our defenders have a hard time defending one on one when the ball comes in fast.
We are average to poorly coached.

I AM GOING TO WAIT FOR A NEW COACH TO JUDGE ALL OF OUR PLAYERS.

The synergy and work rate of Collingwood was awesome.
We fumbled and tried our new game plan but it fell apart half way through the first quarter when the umps stepped in.

No ticker. No body on the line.

When players start losing footing, jump at balls they should stay on the ground and are constantly led to the ball, it gets real ugly

Game over during the 2nd Quarter.

Collingwood look to be the best team in the comp but we need to find something.

I thought Dixon played well and was ill-used in the ruck.
Drew and Powell-Pepper got votes from me which usually means we got smashed.
Bergman kept playing and working hard.

They went through Jonas a fair bit.
Lycett was beaten.
Every time the ball hit the deck in their F50 I thought they would goal or get a free kick.

We got thrashed by the ups and the best team in the AFL.

And what will make it hurt more, no accountability. Play on.

Don't usually listen to mmm but was running late yesterday so had to listen to the first 5 minutes on the radio.

Pre game Brayshaw openly ripping into Ports about us going missing if the opposition can bring the heat and turn it into an inside game and stop our run.

Usually find most commentators have no idea about Ports and give out vibes that they've barely watched us play but thought Brayshaw was on the money, even though he admitted to barely seeing anything of our rd.1 match against Brisbane.

Amazes me how infectious our form is, the amount of times I counted different players not having the balls to take an extra step or two to score or deliver to a target when there was time to do so was uncanny. Then when the heat was on too often just fumbled or dropped marks under the heat.

If you can't step up when the games already shot, what chance are you in a final and the game is in the balance.

I want Lachie to make it so bad but he can’t justifiably continue to be played on current form needs a decent spell is playing like a poor man’s Ned McHenry

Worrying about the Prison Bar Flag now :p Go have a cry reta*ds!

The MRO assessed an incident between Jordan DeGoey and Miles Bergman during the first quarter. It was assessed that the Collingwood player had no other reasonable option in the circumstances and was contesting for the football. Miles Bergman was careless in his positioning and should have taken action to avoid the impact when he saw DeGoey coming towards him. We look forward to seeing DeGoey light it up at the G next week against old rivals Richmond, in what looms as a blockbuster clash.

I had high hopes for him, but this is what...his 3rd season now?

And sadly, squibs it pretty well every time he gets it

I hope he's not just an energetic guy with an ironic hairstyle, but every indication is he's a spud. Another Ken Hinkley regression

Im 50. My kids are now 20s. Weve been to them all, including those Primus 130 point drubbings.

Feel for those in Melbourne, and thosw under 25's who have knoen nothing but losing, with this club

Yeah it's pretty scary. Half our supporter base wouldn't even know of what Port were (other than what they may have heard or read).

It's never about one moment in a mauling like that, if I were to single out a player however it's our version of Pathetic Pittman the one and only Limp Lycett & make no mistake a good ruckman can set the tone for the day.

DeGoey on Bergman looked low on the connection meter to me probably did nothing more than a light glance he didn't follow through with maximum force.

Lucky I was old enough to have seen the 2004 flag. 2007 was a nightmare. Ever since then the clubs been a let down. To think I was hopeful when Ken first got there, what the hell happened Ken?
