Ooh. Brave man, the YES votes are currently winning.

If we lose, there's absolutely no way I want to risk missing the melts.

It'd be melts on a monumental scale never ever seen on a toastie.

The Hawks have a good young side and we will have to be switched on. There are no easy games in the AFL in 2023.

What impressed me last week against the Suns was our pressure right until the final siren, whereas last year there were times we would fall asleep after gaining a substantial lead.

Come with the right attitude and execute our plans and we should win, bring the attitude of our games in 2022 against Kangaroos (SCG), Port, Gold Coast and Essendon, then we will be in for a tougher day.

Slippery conditions will see this be a bit closer. Swans by 24

This post tells me you know not much about our players if you think Worpel and Wingard are our best. FYI it's Sicily and it's not even close either. He's the only A grader we have. We will respond to the garbage we dishes up yesterday but you guys will still win. Our structures are all over the shop at present and we're only playing one way, all attack and don't know what to do if it doesn't work yet.

Sicily cant impact the game from where he plays. He's almost last line of defence these days so he can't even rebound. Maybe not 'best' players, but Worpel and Wingard are probably the barometers of where Hawthorn is at during a game.

Wingard out - so just Worpel then.

I mean Sicily on the weekend had 10 intercepts, 10 rebound from D50s, one of their highest for metres gained. He is the one player I'd even remotely think about putting time/effort into.

Edit: Either Hayward or why I suggested in the absence of Buddy we could take the opportunity to debut Gould, if fit, since he's clearly earned it, and could stick him on Sicily.

I made the suggestion of Gould, if fit. We bring in a "tall forward", lock down on Sicily, and we get to debut our next best player who has thoroughly earned it. Or you roll a McCartin forward to do the same, just play Gould as a KPD.
I don't think we should be moving the backline around too much. I don't hate the Gould option but think he deserves to debut in his actual spot

Ok, well, I reckon if you ask him whether he wants to debut up forward, or potentially wait another year or two until Rampe retires (based on his weekend showing), and maybe debut at the Crows because he loses patience, I think he'd say "don't be Sicily".

Bit of a moot point if his back is still injured anyway though? Or did he play in the VFL practice game?

Extremely bad take lol

And yours is?
Sicily was statistically the best defender in the league in 2022 and easily the best player on the Hawks. I don't think anything has changed over the offseason, if anything the gap has widened now that Mitchell is gone
