Not sure how true that is but I'm flying over tomorrow for my first visit to Perth and to attend the game. It certainly wouldn't be ideal for me if they rested. :p

We've sent our B's to face you in Tassie often enough over the years so it's time to repay the favour ;)

Sandilands and Clarke drop just about every mark so that won't be too hard

Sandi gets mugged all the time (literally has defenders piggybacking him) but agree that Clarke needs to take advantage of that and do more. Shame Griff isn't fully fit yet since I'd have swapped him in ages ago.

According to the hawthorn board Gunston is now confirmed in. Very interesting decision by Hawks to risk a knee. But at least if we beat them they can't blame too many outs.

Now have to make sure Dawson shuts him down which I don't think he can do

Silvagni would be a good match up for him. Dawson will probably go to Hale.

Looks increasingly likely Gunston will play :-( so they'll likely get back Gunston and Lake and we'll lose Macca and it seems like from training reports also Spurr? So much for taking advantage of an 'injured' hawks....I have no idea why Freo are favourites in the bookies...We don't have the best history against them, regardless of personnel. Going to be tuff!

If Gunston actually plays and I have no idea why they feel the need to given it is at least a week shorter than anyone else doing a medial then Ibbotson is probably the best like for like defender we have for him. Johnson could also do it but we would like him running off. If Spurr doesn't come up then Breust mathcup is also tricky as not sure about Duffield on him.

Gunston turning hard in a tackle could cost them a flag.
True but then again Cyril doing a hammy or Roughy bumping someone high or Mitchell doing a quad or Lake strangling someone could also cost us a flag.

At some point people have to play. Like you i'm surprised Gunston can play 2 weeks after what was reported as a medial strain but i'm quite confident that the hawthorn powers that be don't feel that this week is any more riskier than next week IF they actually play him.

Is it equally true to say that Fyfe is a bad shoulder knock away from costing Freo a chance? A ship in a harbor is safe and all that.

They must be nervous about this game if they are going to play Gunston... Not wise I feel, but they know better than I

I think we're wetting our collective pants over this.

If we can't beat an in-form fully-fit Hawks at home we've got no chance at this year's Flag. Bring them all on I say, **** they can even have Buddy back if they want too.

We're more dangerous without him. Shame ruff and mcpharline are out
