Look at the toast, so desperate to get the win in their grand final that they announce a bunch of retirements of their heart and soul players right before the derby.

Sad sad sad.
Who knows? Instead of a 100 point thumping they might only get done by 95 points!!

Williams free to play, got off. He's got the pleasure of taking on Luke Jackson

The Egos will be fired up for this one unfortunately. With their home crowd and our diabolical first quarters we could well find ourselves on the back foot early on. We need to be switched-on on from the get go.

I don't trust Freo enough to feel confident about this game 🤞

Honesty Freo need to get better lawyers. There wasn’t much in that reported incident but you know the Freo QC would have royally ****ed the challenge.

Probably to the point Dale Alcock would have had to build multiple homes for Mason Redmans family and probably a new primary school in his home town in SA.

Already been covered on the last 2 pages
Covered? As in?...

Why it isn't an issue?

The evidence to have confidence Tabs won't spend a huge amount of important games on the sidelines next year?

That the forward line won't have to go through shifts and adaptions and adjustments to his ins and outs?

That Treacy is solid backup when Taberner is out, Treacy will be able to develop when he is in the side

Darcy is also injured often so another avenue for Treacy to join the side

Treacy is signed up for 3 years now, we don't have to play him at all costs as we aren't at risk of losing him

Not the most sound logic.

"Oh we've got him signed now so that means we don't have to worry about playing him in the 22."

Amiss, Treacy and Sturt should be playing every single game they're fully fit for.

I'd be prioritising Treacy's development... and the chemistry and synchronicity of the forward line.

It wouldn't be unrealistic to think 25-30 goals would be within Treacy's reach next season. Then some extra in the chemistry they could get together.

Realistically they should be looking to have Taberner as a side chapter to all that. It's going against a huge slice of history to prioritise Taberner as the main man. Or even a vital cog.

I disagree that Tabs is an upgrade on Treacy.

Maybe in isolation alongside each other he's the more experienced and at the moment slightly better player but the way Josh brings his teammates into the game and doesn't ****ing get in the way means we are way better off with him in the team.

The fwd line is building synergy and Tabs will **** that all up

Yep. we could trade Tabs.

FWD line hasn't been the problem this year.

You're misquoting

"We've got him signed now so we don't have to worry about him leaving" is more accurate

Not playing him in the 22 is dependant on tabs being fit, I want to play finals next year, taberner over Treacy is one key part to that (if Treacy kills it in the wafl, most importantly by consistently marking the footy then he can earn his way back in)

Only played 3 games this year and 2 he was subbed due to his back

29 goals a season ain't bad at all, especially when U factor in 2020 was shorter length games
If you compare him on averages to some key forwards drafted around his pick:

Tabs - 1.4 goals per game, a touch under 11 games per year since his being drafted, 11 possessions per game.

Jem Finlayson - 1.4 goals per games, a touch over 10 games per year since being drafted (pulled down by not debuting for a couple of years), a touch under 15 possessions per game.

Mitch Lewis - 1.8 goals per game, just under 10 games per year, just under 11 possessions per game.

Nick Larkey - 1.9 goals per game, 13 games per year, just under 9 possessions per game.

He fits okay within this group but averages about half a goal less per game than the true key forwards (so 5 or 6 less goals per season based on average games played), or 4 possessions less than Jem Finlayson who does some rucking.

The problem he now has is that Amiss is giving 1.8 goals per game in 7 or 8 possessions at 19, so has supplanted his role as the stay at home forward. Tabs best seasons were 2020 through 2022.

2020 he played 16 games, went 1.8 goals per game and just under 11 possessions from 98% game time on ground.

2021 he played 16 games, went at 2.3 goals per game from 11 possessions. 88% time on ground.

2022 he played 13 games, went at 1.8 goals per game from just under 10 possessions and 76% time on ground.

That would indicate that if he has recovered from his back issue he can still be of value, but I don't think he is a first choice forward anymore.

Amiss and Walters would be permanent markered on the team sheet in the forward line. Jackson will play every week and Treacy has shown better chemistry with the forward line so far.

If Tabs can play the Treacy link up role then maybe he can put pressure on but it hasn't appeared that way so far.

Frederick, Jackson, Schultz, Treacy, Amiss, Walters, Sturt, Switta looks like the first choice mix.
