Autopsy Round 23, 2021: Hawks draw with Tigers - end of an era!

We're going to lose a draft pick for what happened here. That was a blinking red light to the AFL integrity unit to come down hard on us.
Let's not lose our marbles now...

Bachar Houli and Astbury interview all class. Clarko and Hardwick great mates. I’m ok with it.

Holy sh*t. Wasnt expecting so much anger and vitriol itt!!

How can any Hawks fan be full of anger right now?
I doubt the players and coaches will be as scathing or as emotional as some of the posters here.

They put the cue in the rack after a pretty difficult month of footy. Might have been inevitable that we fell away at some point.

On a completely different note

Anyone got an address for the umpiring department - want to send some measuring tapes

They get away with murder. Late contact, taking players out of marking contests....... and the amount of time they get to dispose of the ball.

We need to move on from tob, has too many of these games where he is a complete liability. It’s billy hartung all over again. We’ve got a few young keys on the list, give them a go, couldn’t possibly be as disappointing as tob has been for the last 10 years

Some young players made dumb mistakes.
Tigers.got a sniff and took advantage.

Agree it was a complete fade out, nothing more. Tigers always looked to blow it wide open if we stepped off the gas, as you saw how easily they got some scoring shots on the turnover. I was actually surprised we got a decent lead considering, thinking it would be end up being closer for most of the match.

Bramble took a total of 14 steps out of the square. Counted it twice
14 steps is probably close 25-30 metres when running. It never gets paid but it was there. Good lesson for Bramble as he has been pushing the line with for the last few weeks

Right!? I was about to say this. There was a couple of kicks that genuinely travelled 25m that were called play on. On the other hand, that intercept mark that Wingard made in the F50 in the last quarter travelled 10m at most.

Im trying to look past it, because I know there are bigger issues today, but giving up that lead like that is really f%%% disappointing. I listened on radio, and they carrying on like idiots, so I am not entirely sure how/why we gave it up so easily.

Thanks for everything Clarko and Burgers. Its got that "day the music died" feel about it right now. One of those moments for Hawks when life is different tomorrow in a way we have not experienced for a long time.

Hopefully Clarko and Burgers enjoy the day. They deserve it regardless of result.

Go Hawks.

TOB gifted them 3 goals today
So we have TOB to thank if we get pick 5 instead of pick 6?

First he gets mark of the year and then probably saves us from the dreaded pick 6, the kid should get a pay rise.

So he has gone from your whipping boy to a footy god, all hail the great man.

Way to go Timmy. :thumbsu:

Shaun Burgoyne has played 400+ games and his last 5 seconds was a full stretch full effort to kills the ball. Well done sir. Enjoy retirement

What did you expect with emotions running high leading up to a game. We wanted to win to send them off to soften the blow, but instead copped a kick in the guts.
Yeah that's fine. No judgement and no issue with these reactions, just very suprised by how full of anger they are.

I don't like the Tigers but Astbury and Houli are stand up men and while i wanted the win, I thought the draw was a nice result. Maybe I'm not one eyed enough....?
