After hearing Misson on SEN, sounds like resting 1-2 this week is a possibility.

Maybe King is resting and that's how Hayes gets a gig?

It will be a balancing act, if we still want a home final we have to give ourselves a chance to beat Brisbane. It will depend on the players themselves I guess some like the continuity some may feel they will benefit from two weeks off. Either way hopefully Hayes is ok and can come in and play?

I did have a good chuckle at Misson keeping tight lipped about our irish signing clearly not realising that his team over in Ireland had already tweeted he had played his last game for them and signed with us lol Liam O'Connell is his name if anyone is interested, young U20 from Cork

Thats awkward for him. His Irish Manager obviously wasn't aware we were keeping it quiet.

The Collig boss was speaking after a 2-12 to 0-12 win over Carrigaline in the Bon Secours Hospital Premier SFC on Sunday in Páirc Uí Rinn.

“The breaking news now is unfortunately Liam O’Connell is leaving us. He signed a professional contract with St Kilda. He had interest from Carlton and Melbourne but he has decided to move to St Kilda. He signed the contract last week, it was kept under wraps, and it was just announced in the dressing room, so he will be a massive loss.”

A big issue we have going into this weekend is that Melbourne have very little incentive to beat Sydney. I think they'd rather come fourth and play a final at the G than move up to third and play Port or Brisbane away.

If we lose the game then we most likely play Sydney at the SCG.

If we win then we play a home final and it also gives us belief that we can beat anyone.

Would not be resting a soul. They can rest after Grand Final Day 😎
This.

Need to do everything in our power to win.

Otherwise we're relying on Melb (with nothing to really play for) to beat Sydney .

Away final v Swans

Win that and its an

Away final v Port

Don't overthink it. Is Brisbane or PA finish top two, realistically you can play the interstate final in week 1 when if you lose you still have another chance, or in week 3 and if you lose you are out. Melbourne won't want to flirt with their form.

Not for nothing, but we're 2-0 in NSW this year. Let's take it one week at a time.

HOnestly not fussed about playing the swans at the SCG, we've beaten both of them and the Giants away.
Yeah that's all great but I actually want to go & watch my team play in a flipping final!

Getting tickets to an SCG final will be akin to Gringo's battle to get Taylor Swift tickets ;)

Keeler stiff, Wood has played enough, rest him.

Assuming he's OK, I'd like to see Sharman jumping on Harris Andrews, he's got a leap that seems to reduce the impact of those intercept marking backman, disarming more effectively than say having a big key forwards physicality could - the mark fro, behind over Stewart was amazing and Andrews was a point of difference against us earlier in the year.

I didn't see the VFL game, did Hayes play 100% as a forward or did he spend some time in the middle as well?

Interesting one.
Playing for a home final, but with finals in general locked up do we rest the slightly injuried? (Sharman, Hill) and do we rest those who we can't afford to GET injured in the final? (King, Marshall).
I'd love for us to give it a red-hot crack against arguably the toughest assignment in footy in the Lions at home, with our best available side, but would also understand some players being rested for it.

Edit: I think we lose this regardless unfortunately. But if we are going to give it a shot at all, Neale has proven he cannot cop a proper tag. Windy or Steele should sit on him. We also need to not give Harris Andrews record amounts of intercepts lol. We have been better at this within the last month, but I still shudder at the memory of our last outing against them in that respect.
