Rest Ro and Max also potentially Wood (although it might weaken us too much, and he is in fine form, also don't know who you would bring in...Byrne's maybe?) bring in Campbell (who is capable) and Hayes (give him a game before finals against great opposition to bring him up to speed)
Not opposed to giving Coff a game. Maybe sub.
We should be playing to win. I don't think the changes - though obviously a downgrade - would impact the actual system too much.
One min you say rest 3 of our best players and next min its should be playing to win , cant see how that works

Melb won’t win they already making up story’s of how the team is all sick, they will lose on purpose to play pies at mcg book mark it

Melb play AFTER the Port game result will be known.

If Port win, then Melb cannot get above them, so will stay 4th unless Lions lose.

If Lions lose, then Dees could go above them, but we will not care in they win or lose as we will have locked in a home final.

Would definitely be giving Coff Hayesy and Billing’s a game so they don’t go in too cold to finals if required.
Good ins no matter what.
Still guaranteed the win.

I don't know if what I'm suggesting would work at all. Just throwing out ideas, but just for s*it's and giggles here we go 🤔
We've proven that our forward line can function okay without Max. Hayes has a presence up forward...and I'd like to see him have a run in a real game.
Ro is obviously much harder to cover, and is in great touch, but it would be great to have him fresh and rested for finals. Campbell is capable without being brilliant.
Wood, I'm reluctant to rest at all...but was just spitballing, in a similar position to Ro in that I think a game out might make him better for finals. I don't think we have any cover for him though.
I want to win every game, because I want to win...but want to win finals more.

I think Hayes is worth a shot too. BUT not for Max. Plus you actually need to see if he can gel with Max, and play well in a role that supports him.

I would make the Poo (or Billings) the Sub and bring Hunter into the 22.

Hayes prior to joining us showed that he is a big game player. This game can test him out to see if he is fit and match fit enough.

I was just thinking about Max's shoulder and soreness, because you know that the opposition are going to try and target it at some stage. Brisbane playing for a home final...it wouldn't surprise me at all to see them test it.
I get your point though about Hayes & Max, and even Membrey. In fact it would help both Max and Ro...who could rest forward a little more, with both the big boys protecting Max a bit.

Jack Hayes could be the Jimmy Gwilt of this years finals series for us.

Played a ripping first final against Adelaide in 2005. After debuting against Brisbane in the final round….

Remember the final fondly! Jimmy ripping through them off the HBF... Who was he replacing in that team? My main point is don't change the winning formula (until it ain't)

latest
and that was a fresh one at the bye round

Sherman's ankle would be the one I'd hope they wouldn't risk, if it's dodgy

Yeah no point risking him if he isn't fully fit and it would give us a chance to play Hayes in that third tall forward role.
