There is no way we can carry all of DBJ, Evans and McEntee. One of them has to go.
Evans is a spud but at least he kicks goals, DBJ is better at everything compared to McEntee. McEntee needs to go.
Evans out and Marshall in

Dixon in and lord out.

Hayes out and lycett in

Jonas out and McKenzie in

Boak back to sub. Williams on the ground

4 changes plus sub changes

A fit Lycett is still the best option. Unfortunately.
Define 'fit'. If by 'fit' you actually mean fit, sure. But if by fit you just mean uninjured, no. Lycett hasn't been actually 'fit' since about 2020.

All good. Thought you were referring to yesterday's game at Elizabeth. He was poor and nowhere in the realm of selection but the spectre of Hinkley.....
Yeah he did sweet FA yesterday but I think they are just happy to give him a run and get through a game.
We definitely need to kick better for goals in the finals, need to convert when we have our good patches.

He was ‘fit’ enough to go with Gawn in the Melbourne game ,he was also ‘fit’ enough to give English a bath in the Dogs game (43 hit outs) the week after that he was ‘fit’ enough to give Blicavs a bath also (35 hit outs).
His form this year when playing has been pretty good.
He’s still our best option when ‘fit’
That’s good enough if he can do similar in the finals.

He’s played well in four out of about 12 games. The other games he’s been poor including the bath DeKoning gave him against Carlton. Unfortunately he’s unlikely to be much good in the finals

Are some of you seriously suggesting Sam Hayes or Visintini is a better option than Lycett? Hayes got subbed off today in a side that was seriously lacking height because he was terrible, in a game that he could have seriously been considered for finals with a good performance. And you think that lack of fortitude would suddenly transfer to finals performance? We a know Lycett' is susceptible to shit performances too, but he's still the best option. Insane to think otherwise.

Lycett got absolutely torched by an SANFL player yesterday.

The reality is that pretending any of our ruck options are substantially better than any of our other ruck options is folly. They're all just different types of bad.

...

Except Teakle. They're all better than Teakle.

Dixon in to ruck?

Also, Evans is poor but at least he pops up and kicks goals, and has kicked multiples. Mcentee offers nothing outside of taking up space occasionally. Seriously, bring in Narkle and even throw Fantasia in as a sub but for the love of Russell Ebert get rid of this guy.

Lycett is a Premiership ruckman and had 9 score involvements against Brisbane in round 1. Time to wake up.
Lycett would be a two time premiership ruckman if he hadn't played a fourth quarter against Nankervis in 2020 so bad it made Hayes today look like prime Dean Cox.

He also had 8 disposals and 8 hitouts in the SANFL yesterday.

I wouldn’t call 33 hit outs to 28 a bath
He’s still our best option, next best would most probably be Dixon and what they played today is well down the list.

Lycett just had a run around the park yesterday.
He’s our best ruck, Dixon when fit would be next.
Dante is the pick of the rest.
If anyone is trying to pump up Hayes by using Teakle as an example then they have played there last card.
Game over.

Today's game was further evidence that Tom Jonas made the right decision to retire. His reflexes are shot and he struggles to pick the ball up off the ground. About to only sure way Jonas can take possession is to mark it or take a hand ball.

If McKenzie is fit then surely he comes in for Jonas?

Another player to have a stinker today was Lachie Jones. Dylan Willaims had almost as much of the footy in one quarter than Jones had for the entire game. How is Williams not in our best side?
