They are a couple of drafts in front of us and it appears that they were severely lacking structure. This doesn't bode well for us, as our structures are terrible, breaking down on all lines.

I think the senior players left are not leading by example, can they please lift.

If he is actually fit (and the club could stop playing funny buggers with their injury reporting) we desperately need Scrimmers back in the side.

We have really missed his intercept marking and composure with the ball.

Probably not a coincidence that we have lost a lot of structure down back without him in the side, he is such a steadying influence on that back six.

Maybe not such a bad thing - Can discover if the replacements have got what it takes before bringing him back in. Development year.

Who would have expected north to be clear favourites for this game a fortnight ago?

They’ll likely smack us around the clearances and appear organised enough defensively that we’ll struggle to score. At very least the Roos will have confidence.

Will Mitchell swing the axe?

Should play Sicily as a Forward as he originally was and kosi as back line see if it’s any better. Bring Brockman in, kids a super star. Play cj on the ball as others have said. Gotta think positive we can win this one!

Agree with most of your Ins & outs, I think Greene stays as he had 4 shots on goal that he would normally get 3 of them. He is creating opportunities.

TBH you could cut another 3 quite easily.
yea I like Greene does create chances. I think he will benefit more when Lewis is in the team. I would swap him and Kosi if Lewis was fit.

I’d love to see CJ have a crack at playing as a pressure forward. We have huge issues on keeping the ball in, and let’s be honest, while Lewis is out, keeping it in is going to be our best chance at scoring. Brockman, JOS or even Seamus could help as well, the forward line isn’t working atm, so change it and get dirty and hungry in there.

I think DGB needs a crack after a decent effort this morning, and I’d leave Hardwick down back. Scrimshaw if fit and available needs to play as the more composed foot skills we have down there the better.

The midfield is young, and learning to play with each other still. Would like to see more urgency in defending turnovers as we are still too easy to transition against.

As I’ve said earlier, losses atm don’t worry me one bit, it’s part of the process, but effort and skills need to improve in areas.

I wouldn't mind to see his leap in the forward pocket as well. Would definalty create some nervous defence with his pressure.

Wholesale changes are required, but I’d love some knowledge on our backline behind the scenes because it look’s completely mismanaged from coaching to selection, if we go in with the same lineup again or just 1 or 2 changes the calls for tanking are valid. We have 10 year career players being held out that kick, run, defend better then those who are in just not the age, so how about we show some faith in the future and let the senior players fill in the gaps when required.

It would be doing no help to keeping a stable group together and developing either, I’m actually more annoyed then I was after the game. For the backline to be that piss poor for two weeks means something is rotten. When things go bad it’s normally top down.

One more week and it’s a trend..

spot on!
Could it be this simple 3 blokes who played 16+ games in defence last year have not played in defence this year. (Day,DGB,Scrimshaw) either these blokes have been underrated or the others have fallen off the cliff. Day is learning his midfield craft we are gaining in that area but we have definatly lost down back.
Let's get the other two back in the side and when Day is not in the midfield he can take his rest at half back.

A few changes imo:

In: Scrimshaw, Long, Ramsden/Lynch, DGB
Out: Bramble, Finn, Reeves, Frost/Cj

Cj/Impey/Bramble to sub

Could make half a dozen changes comfortably I'd say, but the balance has to be right.
I think Scrimshaw and Denver will straighten ul our back line a fair bit- Cj looks a little lost without his friend back there
Blanck will venefit from having DGB to help foil.
Nash today showed the benefit of having a big strong body around the contest. Long comes in to help out in that sense- get the games into him and watch him explode!
Frost and Impey need tk step up from a leadership perspective- both were slaughtered this week.

Brocky deserves a call up, but I'm not sure who comes out for him.
I'm actually glad for the quick turn around- no time to dwell on anything!

Bring out ya broom Mitchell, it's time for sweeping changes:

Hardwick - Blanck - Impey
Scrimshaw - DGB - Sicily

Meek - Newcombe - Day
Amon - Worpel - Ward

Moore - Ramsden - MacDonald
Butler - Lynch - Brockman

Mackenzie - Finn - Nash - CJ

Hardwick. Blanke Scrimshaw
McKenzie DGB. Sicily
Morrison. Newcombe. Amon
McDonald Ramsden Moore
Bruest. Greene. Butler
Meek. Finn. Worpel

McKenzie, Day, Ward Nash
Impey (sub

Out
Frost, bramble, kossie, reeves, Jiath
In
DGB, Scrimshaw, Morrison, Butler, Ramsden

Finn, tags LDU
Ramsden, key forward with ruck chop out as needed
McKenzie, give him the N Daicos treatment. Let him cruise around off half back being a distributor.
DGB might as well play. Get games into him, even if it means Sicily takes a key opponent.

We’ve removed pace, but hopefully introduced composure

Why is everyone dropping Greene when he’s been our best forward over the pre season, is the only one hitting up and one of the only blokes creating chances?
Other than his kicking for goal, I thought he went ok today

like the side, in an ideal world I’d have Hardwick for impey and have weddle learn in the 1s

If Moore could push into the middle we could fix the forward pressure completely by playing Brockman, butler and O’Sullivan, all kids but know how to tackle. They wouldn’t play every game so a mix of matchups rotate around them, this is where we are going wrong up forward and the ball just walks out.

Breust would play over cj though

He is too short to play kpf and too slow to put any pressure on his opponent once the ball hits the ground. Would like to see him in a side where we play 2 talls up forward and see if he can be dangerous. But as it stands he isn’t very effective.

Conor MacDonald needs to be dropped. Kid doesn’t chase. Must be nonnegotiable as a small forward. Two weeks in a row they walked their way out of our forward line. Green and MacDonald out, brockman and O’Sullivan in.

Our strategy is to hold sides up at chf (for us) and force them wide. But with no pressure and chase from behind, their runners simply go straight past our stationary line and we leave so much space behind that line we can’t stop them. So either we fall back to chb much much faster or we put pressure on them in our forward fifty.

Hoping we find a way to get Ramma in or play frost up front and bring in dgb.

Because he's just not that good at the end of the day.

It's a nice story and all, but medium leading forwards don't last too long in the game, especially ones that are quite thin and and aren't power athletes, don't tackle (0 in two games) or can't roll through the middle.

He's playing because we are desperate. But he should be a backup level player.

Kind of reminds me of David Mirra; a good honest trier.

Yeah he needs to be used to setup play, not as a small forward tasked with pressuring defenders. Maybe he should get a run on the wing, or how about in the midfield where he was impressive over preseason?

Getting one CBA a game isn't right.
