Proud of the boys, for a young and inexperienced team to hang around for that long was impressive.
Kicked ourselves out of it in the end, had we kicked one straighter or if the umpires did their job properly would have made all the difference.
Hopefully that stings and a few boys will be looking to make up for it.
No. Sorry, we lost that. Kicking our way out of it like Saints of old and grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory.

Should have been at least 4 up by half time. Just unforgivable for professional footballers. Higgins and Ross (when the chips were really down) only ones who can hold their heads up in regards to the goal kicking.

I think it’s pretty clear why Bonner was let go.
Liked what I saw from Hastie.
Think about it. Port Adelaide aren’t going to delist someone at 25-26 if they think he could be a possible best 22 or depth player when they are pushing for top four.

I would love to see Hastie get a full game next. Let’s see him playing a full match.

All those misses when we should have put the game to bed. Seen it so many times. And we seemed to run out of gas. Where was our famed running power at the end?

Lots of good things, but then we butchered the last bit. Brought Windy into my SC team this week. Hardly sighted him.

Missing that amount of set shots has to bite you in the bum in the end. And it did. We just faded out. Heartbreaking.

Thought Ro battled better than any other ruck in that scenario.
Gave him the chocolates at half time against their 2.
After that you could see he was just getting too gassed.
needs help against these dual ruck teams but luckily I don’t think there’s any other club that has the caliber of pure ruck and around the ground work of Goldy and Draper.
Held his own imo.

Some of the frees against him in ruck contests were a bit baffling.

Bonner has to be dropped, decision making awful. It is a game of 1%ers and the kick in to BONNER in the centre of the ground was a ripper only for bonner to stuff it up, that could have been a goal and is really disappointing.
And really could of buried the dons if the opportunities in front of goal were taken.
Go back to Vegas ya pleb

Ross obsessed with run clearly but Brad Crouch is a far better player than Zak Jones.

Bonner a nice back-up, kicked over a Km metres gained but 17 turnovers is putrid. We're missing brain-fade Webster.

Make no mistake, Essendon are a terrible side despite topping up with millions of FA and trade signings, that was a bad loss.

King would have had a field day, Wood & Henry big losses in one week.

Wilson good for a look, time for some VFL.

Umpiring ridiculous.

Yep bottom line Marshall needs some help...not his fault or Owens (who is a ruckman) but up against two legit rucks the Dons were given first use of the ball when it mattered in the last quarter.

The Bombers are shit dragged us down to their level. What a mistake riddled game by both sides umpires were just as bad.

Game should have been over a quarter time. 2 goals 6 from set shots. Bad kicking is bad football. We have only ourselves to blame for this one.

We need another extractor and another playmaker forward of center lucky Dow is not far away and we missed Henry.

Always suss of other teams rejects and think we can see why Port let Bonner go. Feel he should be boned sadly, hate to say it about a player but he was too flaky for this type of game.....especially when Wilkie has a mare of a game.

Caminti tried hard but McKay was too classy down back and King would have kept him more honest.

Anyway we let this one slip hope there are not many more. Chances of cuddly RTB on Monday review Zilch. He will be asking a few players for wtf are they doing?

Hastie and Wilson need more games and will get better we are a young team on the rise and this stuff happens.....again

It would be interesting to see the 1v1s in the second half. It’s hard to keep backing up when you keep losing momentum

That’s nice , too bad Brad Crouch is out for the next eight weeks . But hey let’s play him ahead of Jones .

Okay legend. Maybe he wouldn't be injured if didn't get dropped after one average game.

Jones was very average as usual, if we can't replace him next week we're F'ed.

Seb had a good game by his standards, but its kind of sad that without Dow and Crouch, he's our best inside mid after Steele.
windhager not a shadow of what he did last week.

Apart from bloody Merrett, no-one in the game got more than a single centre clearance.
Darcy Wilson got as many as Zac Jones.

Jones wasn't an issue this match, had 5 clearances and was a link player for half that match so benefited nicely in midfield, no one be potting that man for anything but managed 61% game time. He and Ross lead our clearances basically as they just worked it out.

Only a handful of players with 3+tackles, given how tight the game was around stoppages.

Tackle count lead by the captain who by reports was sick this week (7), our ruckman(6), the 'not enough forward pressure' small forward in Higgins (6) and 19yo Phillipou (6)

Leaves a lot to be desired for a Ross Lyon side.
