Special mention to Matty Kruezer. He was dominant tonight - both in the middle and around the ground. Does a heap of stuff that doesn't get a stat, but is massively important to out teams. Thought Hampson was great as well. Those 2 rucks work really well together.

:)

Main board is hilarious. Apparently we are still pretenders and collingwood are not a top 4 side.

Being Bigfooty I am not surprised.

We could win the flag and they would still be saying how crap the opposition was, we're still duds etc. And I don't think I'm even kidding.

Totally agree with this. I have been an enthusiastic supporter of Warnock. But the Kruezer-Hampson combination really worked. Jolly is in top 3 or so rucks in league and the MK-SH combination won that department.

I think that we should follow the Geelong strategy though, and rotate players thru the season. Against the lesser sides in particular, we should be resting one of the 3 rucks and getting AFL games into all three.

Spot on Parrot. Except when the ghost of Setanta took over Matty after he marked in the goal square...

Main board:

Carlton aren't legit contenders until they beat a top 4 team!11111

*smash Collingwood*

Carlton aren't legit contenders until they win a prelim!!11111

It's quite humorous reading over there. It looks like we are merely a measuring stick for how far our opponents have fallen.

I dont feel clean coming here. I feel downright dirty, to be honest.

However kudos where they are due.

Nice effort tonight. Fair and square!

:thumbsu:

Cheers for that Pluggeroo...

Dont think that I would get a similar reaction if I went over to the Pies board and commiserated your loss...

I couldnt even be sincere about it which would get me done :p

thats it... players getting better over the course of the season...

Can we dare to dream that #17 is coming at us like a freight train?

Firstly, don't be foolish to count any Premierships before 1960. Secondly, 17 years is not a long wait. A couple years of pain is required to galvanize your team. You are looking good against a team which has been in serious decline since the last third of the 2011 season. Geelong is the team to measure up against.

Great win by the Blues tonight - 100% effort by all the team members!
As sweet as the victory was, I still have a little voice in the back of my mind saying "Yes, but we played a depleted 20 man team for most of the night"
And the other voice in head says "Who cares....we beat Collingwood by 10 goals!!"

I was listening to SEN radio on the way home and it is funny to hear a hell of a lot of Collingwood supporters ringing in and bagging their team and their coach after a 60 point thrashing and now being 1-2 for the year.
Life is truly sweet when you thrash Collingwood.

Not getting ahead of ourselves too much....I'm up for more of the same next week against the Dons! Bring them on!

Yep lets hope we can put them away and not choke when we get the chance!!!

Agreed. But we've been splitting the points with the cats for a couple of seasons. We have a few psychological barriers left to bridge (e.g Hawthorn), but the Cats aren't one of them.
