Hi Guys,

I'm back and needing some advice for corrections in my team. Straight off the bat I was thinking of going Cunningham to someone like Saad, and then upgrading Walsh to Rocky/Sheed? Only concern is using 4 trades in the opening 2 rounds? My team is below, any advice will be much appreciated.

Thank you.

I would be very saad if i faced the prospect of trading Saad into my team

If I trade Heeney he will come out this week fit and firing and score 120+ from the midfield and never look back

If i keep him he will spend 80% in the fwd 50 and score 70- for another month

I'll let y'all know what i decide
Trade him please. I'm holding this week because I have to... which means I'm holding for the year unless he misses games because he'll be $300k soon

My question would be what was the reason for picking Walters, if the thought is to trade him out after 1 bad game?

He has never shown any signs of consistency. Not since 2013 has he achieved more 100+ scores in a season than he has sub 70s.

It seems a waste to pick him knowing this and then burn a trade when he`s at the low end of his probable range for average points. Solidly a 80-88 player career-wise, averaged 79.5 over 2 games, chances are his season average improves from here?

Personally think it was a mistake picking him (injury/temper prone 28 year old with lengthy career history of peaking at 88 average who is inconsistent and plays an outside mid/small forward downhill skier role in a poor to average side) but whether or not a trade should be burned early on him, I think you may miss out on some potential big scores? I`d rather be trading him out the week after a 130/140, which he could get v St Kilda.
solid reasoning.
i was leaning towards holding him anyway. think its time to take a bite out of the shit sandwich i've made for myself and hope that Walters can at least put some sprinkles on it.

so my Heeney to Telly trade frees up just enough $$ to go Billings to Boak ..... But it's tight. I dont think I'd be able to do it next week once prices change

waste of a trade guys, right ? RIGHT!!??

(also have Hore that made need to be addressed )

Need to get Constable in. Likely swap out Atkins for him.
Super keen to add RockPig also..... only way I can see is to remove Steele.
Other option is to swap out Heeney and Atkins for Moore & Rocky.
Any suggestions would be fantastic.
Thanks

He hasn't tonned up in 5 games (that did include a 93) - 3 to end last year, 2 to start this year. He hasn't gone 7-8 games without 100 since mid 2016.

I`ve seen multiple people claim he hasn't hit 100 in all sorts of time frames now (7 games, 9 games). Just not true?
OK I should have said has hit 100 only once in 8 games, 9 if u include the final. Scores of 70,78,73 and his 70 odd last week. He did have a concussion before that lean patch which was why it didn't affect me picking him. If only I'd known about that ankle injury in JLT...

Dusty 'no contact' Martin was an absolute must to be moved on. Even if he scores well for the majority of the season I won't regret trading him. Right now before the first price changes it feels like an absolute no-brainer to turn Dusty into Lachie Neale. I know Neale will actually have a crack every week where the same can't be said for Martin.
Very excited for next week with $321k to play with. If Collins scores well I may even just do Goldstein to Gawn and hold the extra trade. Keep banking change here and there until Walsh, Constable, Parker, Setters, Butters, Clark , Durrsma, Drew are all ready to upgrade.

You need some premos in that team. So much midprice madness.

Lloyd and fyfe for Mills and Martin/Yeo.

I gambled on him at F4 thinking he would increase his midfield minutes with the departure of Neale and the ageing of Mundy. 109 round 1 was great, but came in a rare high scoring game for Fremantle. He was always going to cash in.
His subsequent 9 touches against the 'worst list in the competition' was enough writing on the wall. I simply downgraded him to a rookie on the bubble and pocketed a huge amount of cash to use in more important places. If I had him F3 I would probably ridden it out.

yepp, tough crowd
I should just ask the same questions that everyone else does, and never ever stray into the realm of the sensible.
no,no...don't change!

There are 3 approached you could take IMO:

A) 1 up, 1 sideways, which would look something like this:

Cunningham > Moore
Greene > Dangerfield OR Mills > Lloyd

At some point you should be looking to bring in Danger (FWD), Lloyd, & Gawn, these 3 will most likely be top 2 scorers in their respective positions. You don't have to do it now, but the sooner the better IMO. Moore will make plenty of money (predicted to increase $47k next week) and is averaging a respectable 85, which is very good at his price range.

B) Alternatively, you could prioritise cash generation, for example:

Mills > Rozee (BE -40)
Cunningham > Scrimshaw (BE -48)

Those two alone should generate heaps of money for you.

C) 1 up, 1 down:

Mills > Lloyd
Greene > Parker

Out of the must have rookies (>$200k), you are missing Scrimshaw, Rozee, LDU (essentially a rookie, BE -83), & Parker. I would try to bring in 2 of those in this round for cash generation since your team isn't scoring high enough to significantly climb the rankings anytime soon. Then probably upgrade to Danger, Lloyd & Gawn a little bit later on since their prices won't increase significantly from what they are now. It wouldn't hurt to give Dusty another week to see if he pans out, if he stinks it up again, maybe upgrade him for Macrae/Fyfe/Oliver/Neale/Cripps, all 5 of them are good captain options. Mills looks like a dud unfortunately (thanks to the shit kent Horse). Hopefully Gresham breaks out this season, it good to see him prove me wrong so far.

Good luck kent.

*EDIT: I dunn goofed.

Really can’t believe I’m now considering trading Heeney for Boak, but surprisingly don’t really have any other issues to address at the moment (besides maybe trading Hore if he doesn’t get named).

Prepared for a jolly good rogering from Boak if I do bring him in. Nothing good ever comes from anyone named Travis.
Watch yourself champ.

Would you go Smith over Newman?... or you think Newman could be a keeper?

Thanks mate!
tough one...think Newman has a higher ceiling and a potential keeper(top8 def)..but is more expensive.
Smith less likely to be a keeper... not far behind though and is cheaper!
fwiw i started with Smith and so far so good...planning on him being my D6/7 at the end.
As an upgrade though, I would target Newman before Smith.

So, with the dees running through a banner made out of mean online posts..... i wonder if they visited BF game freds for any material.

Jeebus they'd get some quality vitriol out of this joint!

If they did, I'm sure they'll find enough material to make a series of banners to see them through til Round 23.... :D
