Massive dilemmas gents.

Ablett & Cripps > Bontempelli & B Smith

*Moving Newnes to the midfield.
B: B Smith Shaw Hibberd Higgins Saad McIntosh
M: Fyfe Pendlebury Dangerfield Bontempelli Griffen Newnes Vandenberg Heeney

or

Ablett & Cripps > Kennedy/Sloane & Rich

B: Shaw Hibberd Newnes Higgins Saad McIntosh
M: Kennedy/Sloane Fyfe Pendlebury Dangerfield Griffen Rich Vandenberg Heeney

or

Ablett & Cripps > Kennedy/Sloane & NVB

B: Shaw Hibberd Newnes Higgins Saad McIntosh
M: Kennedy/Sloane Fyfe Pendlebury Dangerfield Griffen NVB Vandenberg Heeney

My head hurts......give me something.
Option c JPK / nvb

OK OK, first draft (to be changed 87 times this week, before teams are announced) is:

GAJ -> The Bont (who I'll move forward later as a keeper)
Miller -> Rich (who may need upgrading later as last midfield upgrade, but should make $150k first)

Plus I'll have >$100k in the bank and 13 guys with negative breakevens going into Round 3. Make some monehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Am I the only one who has Beams?

Copping the heavy tag for the first time and looks like he won't be getting back to his monster scoring anytime soon. BE 180.

Need to sideways trade him to a likely top 10 midfielder.

I've got Fyfe and Pendles so thinking Kennedy or Lewis

I've got him, he'll come good.
Maybe not 620k+ good, but good enough.

Don't trade him, you'll regret it when you're down to your last trade and you've got injuries or late outs etc later in the year.

And you'll think- wtf was i doing wasting a trade on ditching a good player like beams?

Ps as well as beames ive got griffen, watson and steven who ALL haven't exactly had overwhelming starts, but i picked them for a reason.
Once you hit that trade button your making it a DEFINATE mistake starting with beames, whereas if you stick with him, it can still turn around.

Bont looks like a must this year. Have you considered NVB rather than Rich?

Below is my team -

Backs - Malceski, Simpson, Shaw, Newnes, McIntosh, Oxley (Brown, Goodes)
Mids - Ablett, Pendles, Hannebery, Judd, Selwood, Saad, Vandenberg, Heeney (CEY, Miller, Cripps)
Rucks - Goldstein, Luey (Cox)
Forwards - Swan, Bennell, Martin, Bellchambers, Hogan, Salem (McGrath, Clark)

I have $3.6k in the bank.

I have some massive conundrums already and it's only round 2...Ablett has to go & Malceski is looking incredibly average. Do I trade Ablett for another gun and pick up say NVB whilst hoping Malceski will pull his finger out or do I just get rid of both of them? I can't decide. I really want to try and get Bonts/NVB if possible and maybe keep Fyfe as an upgrade target for later on perhaps? Thoughts?

Surely Bonts will start getting some more attention, what are peoples expectations for his average moving forward?

Currently tossing up between Bonts and Rich, hate 2nd year players, but Bonts cant be ignored.

Bonts did well under the scooter tag not thats hes the best tagger but scooter started of well on him.
Bonts tackled hes way out of the tag,Bonts tackles 9 av so far also gets the odd hitout dpp can move forward when the time comes.
He is raw and young the odd 70/80 game but for a forward hes a kepper imho.

I'd keep beams is not injuired just a poor start at hes new club.
Good players like beams bounce back.
Ive got Selwood hes been poor but i;ll stick fat with him.

wouldn't say that at all 4 games of 150+ last year and averaged 110...
Hes not a spud.
Just not a soild scorer some down weeks, but can go huge.
Plays team first footy wears the tag for the team and first tagged because can run riot.
POD really.

Smith -> NVB and KK -> Rich via Saad?

Leaves me with $100k in the bank.

B: Shaw, Gibson, Hibberd, Lumumba, McIntosh, Saad (Oxley, Brown)
M: Fyfe, Pendles, Lewis, Watson, Rich, VanBerlo, CEY, Vandenberg (Heeney, Cripps, Lambert)
R: Mumford, NN (Cox)
F: Gray, Martin, Swan, Bonts, Hogan, Clark (Lamb, Lonie)
If you really want to dump KK that looks a good option to me but I would be wanting 1 more premo mid but you do have bonts so that could count it's a solid team

what about Gaj - bonts and Goodes to nvb via saad or even another premo mid?

G'day Lads,

FTLT. Hoping for a bit of advice please. Didn't do any trades last week, so fully loaded in that respect. Mayes was a bad call and need to deal with that issue.

Option A - Ablett to Bont and Mayes to Docherty leaves me $278,900
Option B - Ablett to JPK and Mayes to Docherty leaves me $89,000

Any thoughts?

A then upgrade Mayes to premo next week...

Had a look a NVB, it looks like i'll have to get him. If he keeps going he'll go up $150K in the next three weeks. Would rather not get rid of Cripps but I'd have to make two trades to get rid of Cockatoo and I think he'll come good mid year, he was always going to be a slow burn. Welcome NVB :thumbsu:

I'm the same. I can't think of anything I could do that isn't sideways or a rage trade on Swallow, Ibbotson who did OK this week anyway. I don't see the panic over Cripps, most likely scenario is that he plays this week in the role he did in NAB and gets 80+. I've never not traded the first two weeks. I'm itching I just can't find anything.
Make huge cash or build mid or save trades = good...sideways = trip to the regrets thread in 10weeks and the first page of the no trades left thread soon after;)

I'm going to Get NVB too.
Keeping Cripps also if hes dropped/injuried.
Hopefully Krack,Gore or another low base rookie come along pocket the 100k to fund a upgrade.

ablett to bontempelli then money left over to upgrade bell IMO

B Smith is a terrible choice, toxic said so....

In fact, toxic is turning into BFs version of Paige :p
He was a great choice for those who started him but I agree with toxic there are far better choices to be trading in at this point now isn't the time to be spending big on defenders. But at some point he'll be in most teams.

Errrrr, toxic said no to him preseason. He's probably on the choo-choo train now ;)

Have Jed Bews in back line (don't ask) and Cripps in mids. Would like NVB or Vandenburg in mids. Could do:

NVB and N. Brown
or
Vandenburg and any DEF under 308

My question is, are there any defenders in the 200k-308k range that have enough job security and cash generation power to be worth having?
