I'm trading Gaz in this week over JJ. Means I have to move on Corey Ellis which isn't ideal but Gaz seems like a must and a bureau darling. Also don't have Hartley who scored well first up, so I may have to skip the JJ boat early on.

Have all other main rookies more or less. Either way, end up with not so much in the kitty but first trade gains the little maestro, whilst second trade sures up the rookies and depends on Rocky playing like a lemon for the rest of the year but means I'm one premo down till Rocky comes good again.

Think I've convinced myself. Rock out - Jesus In.
Also have Wingard and Rich on the pine this week but hoping they pull up well next week.

Cannot get my head around the Shaw trade outs, I just don't see it. To burn a trade before the price drop of a player who is going to be one of the top defenders this year is not logically - especially if you want to burn another to bring him back later...

Petracca is set to play in the next coming weeks, surely thats why you selected him in the first place .. because you knew he was an automatic selection when fit ? Bit pointless burning a trade on him IMO

So the stat is objective and the weighting is subjective.

No, the weight is not subjective. It is a formula that is calculated live. The inputs to the formula are the time left in the game and the current margin. Nearly 2000 events per game go into ranking points across all players, and every event has a different weight applied.

The exact formula for the weights is considered commercial IP, but it is along the lines of:
(1+PDF(Current Margin)/C)/2 where C is a constant and PDF is the normal PDF with a mean of zero and a standard deviation proportional to the percentage of game time left at the time the stat happened.

No you shouldnt take it as gospel but he is playing well in the seconds and building fitness .. why did you select him in the first place if you knew he wasnt going to play in the first couple rounds ?

He's been a top defender for years and there is no reason to suggest that in an improved Giants team he's not going to be again.

Unless somebody can give a couple of decent reasons why he won't be a good player again this year, then trading out Shaw is a really poor decision.

i'm really tempted to go Sloane to Gaz. i hate trading out premos but looks like the Sloane pick was a mistake and he's not gonna be a top 10 pick.

would love some advice.

He played a half of footy on the weekend and the club is looking at a "no rush" rd5/6 return. That's a rd 8/9 first price rise. Bunch of rookies to be done mooing by then.

Thought he'd be back this week or next, poor research on my part. Wish I hadn't started with him.
