Well I have had enough of prevaricating. Trades done. Rockliff to JJ via Lonegran, and Barlow to Mithcell via Menadue. Will enjoy having those lads in my team.
Does replacing a premo forward (Barlow) with Mitchell mean that you now have to play a lower scoring forward rookie (perhaps Menadue) on field, and push a higher scoring mid rookie (perhaps Kerridge/Mills type) languishing on the bench? Would replacing Barlow with another premo forward avoid this eventuality?
I'm guessing obviously as I can't see your team, just got me thinking

Just out of form the *young man.

But please do continue to trade him out. Please do!

#1: Gresham - Papley. Kerridge to midfield and hold Rocky on bench. I also have Barlow and Rich. This would mean just 1 trade and keeping Rockliff, Rich and Barlow.
#2: Do the above trade and also Rocky - JJ.
#3: Gresham - Papley. Rocky- R Gray Move Menadue to midfield. Papley to forwardline and
#4: Barlow - Papley. Gresham - JJ. M Adams to FWD.
Open to suggestions.

Barlow has had 38 possessions this season.

Why does Season Heatmap only show 26?

It shows 37 mate.

*I also can't count.

I think the confusion comes from the 16/10 fwd/def split. Which doesn't seem to count possessions in the centre square. It is 37 possessions. 16 back, 10 fwd and 11 in the middle.

Edit: That's not right either. It is counting the ones in the middle but not the ones in the 50s.

Loves an edit.

It shows 26 doesn't it?

16 defensive half, 10 forward half - 26 total.

Yeah that was it, sorry! Got you now.

Was too lazy to count haha.

They are split into 4 areas.

5 (inside 50) 16 (defensive centre square-50) 10 (fwd centre square-50) and 6 fwd 50.

Well, I was too presumptuous to count ... see my edit above. There's 5 in the back 50 and 6 in the fwd 50. Those are added either side of the 16 and the 10, which do include centre square possies.

OK, however many possessions he's had, does this graph tell me he's a slow old crab I should immediately abandon, or that he's just had a crumby start and he's about to start pumping out tons like Steve Smith?

I come here for ANSWERS, not data I have to analyse myself!

G'day Dash,
I vote #3
Keeping rocky, rich and Barlow doesn't seem like the right move. Keep Barlow as he is at least fit and will play. Is rich to JJ an option?

Some people are suggesting that he's not scoring because he's been being played in the forward line and would perform better in the middle. The heat map suggests he has been seen in the middle quite a bit.

Does this help you any further?

Just looked at his first 4 games last year, he went 75, 136, 66, and 54 before going on to ton up every 2nd game. Surely he gets a bit more midfield time this week. No one tons up like Stevey Smith tho!

Hes no good, doesn't look fit don't get him.
Sarcasm or you really think so? Pulled out two tons so far. Not many other reliable options for me south of 550k. Im stumped what to do with Rocky. Logics would maybe say bench him and get covered by a rook, but im chasing points as im 750th overall.

I was going to flip Barlow for Papley (the key rookie I missed) and then look at either replacing Rockliff or taking Gresham up to a premo, but now there's heat charts and a range of 26-38 possessions and I have no idea what's going on...

If I go down this path, any recommendations on:

Barlow -> Papley
+
Rockliff -> Gray
or
Gresham -> Parker/Ward (keep Rocky)

Have to pull the trigger if you are looking for a high overall finish. Got no choice

Yeh you're right about that heat map, doesn't look like he could spend more time in the middle! Haha maybe he should get forward!
