Round 3 Trades

Had Hibberd and Dahl on the chopping block but then realized Hibberd is playing NM this week. So Dahl for ...

McLean set & forget?
Taranto & cash?
Ryan & lots of cash?

As the week goes on I'm less sure Ryan is a must have. Leaning to TT. If they both hit their projected scores this weeek it’s worth $75k in price changes in week 1, plus $130k freed up, plus I like TT to score better, which passes the $150k per trade requirement, right?

Dahl last minute in for McLean before R1 was stupid.

Comfortable where my rookies are at. Don't see any must-haves that I need to grab. Happy to roll with Hibberd, McGovern and Lobb (perhaps Happy is overstating things a little).
I have Crouch to deal with, and my question boils down to:

1. Crouch -> Oliver/Selwood/Parker/Cripps

or

2. Crouch -> Mitchell
and
Merrett -> Selwood/Parker/Cripps (leaning towards Selwood, he'll never be tagged)

I’d go option 2 with Cripps. While you’d normally back a premium mid vs NM I reckon Oliver will get Jacobs this week to keep him affordable for another couple.

My only concern with Cripps is that he will likely see a lot of attention from opposition. I can see some hard tags on his horizon. Not that it seemed to bother him much last week, but it must wear you down at some point. You can only carry your team mates for so long, as this photo from last weeks game illustrates

My focus this week for trades is my backline:

Laird, Hibberd, Sicily, Finlayson, Doedee, Murray (Naughton, Murphy)

The only way I can upgrade Naughton to Bonner is to chop Hibberd for Shaw.

However I see Simpson as more of a sure thing than Shaw.

The only other option would be to trade Sicily to Bonner and Hibberd to Shaw, holding Naughton.

My question - is Sicily a keeper (lets say Top 10 Def)?
Uncertain whether Sicily is a keeper yet but I'm keeping him for now. He's a good loophole donut this week too

Not sure what to do this week.
Really only missed Ryan in my rooks.
Have Hibbo who looks down, and the mid price mids aren't giving me what I'd hoped for in JOM and Armo.ZGL is worth holding.
Thinking of dropping JOM&Armo for Cogs@Ryan and bank a lil cash, or go all out and with the help of dpp and bring in Simpson&Ryan with no cash left.
Then I remind myself that I was using JOM&Armo to step up to Danger....
Any ideas guys?

I think contested mids with low K/HB ratios are pretty resistant to tags in general, but especially Cripps given his sheer size and strength. Injury history is a worry for him but he represents great value.

I’d expect the trend with tagging to be more towards first receiver types, like Jacobs going to Ross instead of Steven last week.

I do think it’s a bit different with Oliver this week. He’s not such a physical brute, young, not been tagged often, Jacobs went to him for a quarter in the JLT, and there aren’t really obvious alternatives in the Dees midfield.

Id hold. Nothing pressing there

trade hibberd for simpson/shaw
or
trade ZGL for ryan

I have cash to trade my mid price POD risk/fail Reddden to anyone except Danger.
1. Do I go to Titch for another Captain option?
2. Do I go for more value cash generation in Cripps?
I have all the other key options covered.
Thanks in advance...

With 30 trades left I would definitely be doing Langdon to Ryan and getting another cash generating forward in.

Currently my mids are Danger, Titch, JKelly, Fyfe, Cripps, Brayshaw, TKelly and Holman. Should I make bringing in Dusty a priority asap?

Rookie corrections...
Keefe/Naughton/Clark/ZGL

Gonna hold ZGL...

Decent rookies I dont have ..Murphy/Garlett..

Any advice? Im thinking one rookie correction and beams to Danger
garlett is terrible and i hate him in my team

Problem with that is Langdon will be cash generating, and i dont want to trade him out only to bring him back in for his cash later.
you never want to trade someone out only to bring them back in...Wasted Trades!
Yeah i still got my 30 trades but its only round 3 and they will go soon enough.
might only do one trade in JOM to Ryan via Garlett and bank 200k to go on Armo who can turn into Danger in a couple weeks.
just hope Danger doesn't go bang and can get down to around 700k or lower.

I'd go
Jom to fisher via gartlett. Play Holman at m8.
Zgl to Ryan.

Titch IMO.
Plays late in the weekend a lot this year.
Great safety net captain choice.
Allows you to vc danger or dusty.

trade hibberd for simpson/shaw
or
trade ZGL for ryan
Zgl for Ryan.
Downgrade rookie options are always hard to find. When he returns in r7-8 you will have a great downgrade option who we know is best 22.
Holding him seems ridiculous to me.....
Grab another best 22 player now while they are available.
Rookies who come into there side post r1 usually have less js.
Ofc there are exceptions to this rule.

He will be coming back in a month or so which is when you will be looking to cash a forward rookie into a bubble rookie and upgrading JOM or Armo. Also no guarantee Langdon comes straight back into the team if GWS are flying. You still have Olango for loophole purposes.
