I think your reading too much into it with that last line but overall agree with your point.I find it ironic that the plaudits for Ginnivan fail to acknowledge he was so ineffectual, that Hardwick needed to be moved to give the Hawks some potency in attack.
Mitchell in doing so was making a statement about Ginnivan - and not a very flattering one.
Yeah,I don’t know what the obsession with Ginnivan is all about .He was neither here nor there in that game, and was far from the most influential player on the ground.I find it ironic that the plaudits for Ginnivan fail to acknowledge he was so ineffectual, that Hardwick needed to be moved to give the Hawks some potency in attack.

Why are Cyril's shoelaces so far apart? As much as I liked Ginni when he was in Black & White and bear no grudge on him being a Hawthorn (or any other club for that matter), Ginni would be lucky enough to tie Cyril’s shoelaces they’re that far apart. Even if the commentators love him.
Is Ginni getting plaudits? He'll be back to persona non grata with the umpires within a month and then down into the ressies before the year is out.I find it ironic that the plaudits for Ginnivan fail to acknowledge he was so ineffectual, that Hardwick needed to be moved to give the Hawks some potency in attack.

Coz when he said his laces were undone. No one took him for Rioli. Why are Cyril's shoelaces so far apart?
Pessimist has wins that feel like lossesWins that feel like losses
And our 9th straight win at AO. Which puts us at the top of that win streak at the Oval.Bit of trivia:
That was our 100th win in VFL/AFL history against Hawthorn.
Another one that comes to mind is Round 2 2010 vs Melbourne.Wins that feel like losses

The last 6 stretching back to 2021 have been winning margins of 5, 5, 6, 1, 2 and 5 today. And our 9th straight win at AO. Which puts us at the top of that win streak at the Oval.

There’s dishonourable wins the same way there’s honourable losses. You’re kidding yourself if you think we should be sunshine and rainbows on the back of that performance.Pessimist has wins that feel like losses
Optimist has losses that feel like wins (this has never been seen on BF)
Realist - a wins a win.

All is not well but lost enough games that should have won over the years to appreciate even the scappiest of wins. There’s dishonourable wins the same way there’s honourable losses. You’re kidding yourself if you think we should be sunshine and rainbows on the back of that performance.
We’re better positioned to fight another day than we could have been (agreeing with you btw). All is not well but lost enough games that should have won over the years to appreciate even the scappiest of wins.
I think by year end we can be. Six teams going for 4 spots.Said it weeks ago, say it again…
No longer a top 4 team.
Time to phase out some of the old heads and persevere more with some of the kids
