Longmire's comments post match pretty much highlighted the lack of polish we showed transitioning out of defence. I took this as a direct critique of Armstrong and Rampe (with apologies to the kid who is still learning the caper). Unforced changes should come from this part of the field. Bird for Armstrong?

And to the haters out there: Club has confirmed 1200 Swans members are travelling to this game - so that is a big FU to the knockers who seem determined to make those taking this trip feel miserable for some reason about what should be an historic moment for the club. I can understand some down south being disappointed this fixture isn't in Melbourne. But to then take the step of trolling posts and slamming anybody who is happy or excited about this trip is a pathetic effort

And to those who are hitting Wellington. See you at the game. Let's have some fun :)

I am absolutely stunned. His leg was flopping all over the place on the sidelines with the doctor, but maybe he's just a naturally gangly flexible guy

Where
Where's Kozi been?

Sandringham.

Doesn't get much love from Saints fans, but personally for the life of me, can't understand why we play so many crumbers without the big pack crasher.

Hickey would probably be picked before him, which IMO doesn't address the need for another key forward because he is a ruckman pure and simple.

Perhaps both Hickey and Kosi come in considering your talls, also hoping Dempster makes a surprise return as well.

Well certainly being 'flexible' has made him the valueable player he is. ;)

Huge loss for your defence, a true old fashioned utility.

So you guys think Everitt, Walsh or White would be his likely replacement?

I hope they don't go with Everitt to take LRT's spot. He's finally been playing in a spot that suits him and, consequently, he's been playing senior standard football.

Rampe was playing on Blicavs for a while on Friday night so, at this stage, I'd back him to be the third tall. I know Blicavs is very new to the game and probably isn't a perfect indication that Rampe can step up consistently as that 3rd tall, but I'd try him first. If need be, shift Everitt down there during the game.

I really dislike the idea of Everitt playing in defence. I think he should be brought back for this game because he was unlucky to be dropped and long term I think he has a future but I just feel like he has some issues with focus and that could hurt us in defence.

Anyone know how Lockyer is going in the reserves? I saw a quarter against GCS and was impressed with his size but didn't really see anything positive or negative about his play.

I was actually just about to throw it out to reserves watchers too regarding Lockyer and Alex Brown. From what I've read, Lockyer doesn't sound like much of a chance at all but Brown seems like he is making decent enough progress.

So are either of them a chance at all right now? Johnson would have been at least a bit of a surprise to you last when he came into the side in 2011, wouldn't he? Could Brown do the same?

Why are people mentioning White as a serious option? He's been playing ruck for the best part of 18 months now and seems to barely get much time playing forward let alone back.

We're not that desperate yet.
He is 197 cm 102kgs and moves not to bad why not send him back or play him full foward and reid back

Well you don't send White back because he hasn't played there in years (by my memory).

Your second option has some merit though IMO. I wouldn't go with it just yet, but Reid moved down back would have to be considered if more injuries are sustained or someone like Rampe or Everitt really struggles on taller, stronger 3rd forwards.

I think reid could do it if it comes to that 196cm and 96kg fast of the mark and go leap just might get pushed of the ball abit if he went to a big foward everitt is only 89kgs will get pushed of it way to easy i think and walsh well we all no about him
