I'm not sure it really matters at the end of the day
I kind of agree though it seems to matter to a number of people. There's a thread titled "Hickey out as 'managed'"

But having him listed as 'managed' does suggest that if he hadn't pulled up sore then he would be playing.

Richardson conceded ruckman Tom Hickey would have been dropped even though he "pulled up stiff" from last week's game.

Billy Longer will replace Hickey and play his first game for the season after strong form in the JLT Community Series.

"We would have made the change, we think we've been on the back foot too much at stoppages, " Richardson said.

"We think 'Hick' has some room to move there in terms of being better for us in the ruck.

"But it's time for Billy to have a go, he was really positive in the JLT series, (and) he's had to wait and be patient.

"We're excited about what he might be able to do for our team."

Hickey would've been dropped.
Did you just make this up? Ahah. Well written.

Just watching Richo's press conference, no chance of Savage coming. He was also pretty coy on Koby - I have the inkling it will be just the two changes, Billy and Stuv for Hick and Army.

Did hint that there may be some sore boys around, I'm guessing they're the ones in extended bench. I did think Dunstan looked pretty stiff when he was lining up for the set shot last week - might explain why he was so quiet.

Is Dinny having a laugh?

Patrick Dangerfield: The superstar was best on ground in round 14 against the Saints last season. He notched up 29 disposals, 15 contested possessions and nine clearances.

Didn't his direct opponent, Seb Ross get 33 disposals and 3 brownlow votes :drunk:

You know what would've happened.

"Oh crap gotta write that bogeyman article, who was best on in Cats Saints last time, *checks danger* 29 touches and 15CP? **** it that'll do"

Nice pisstake, but doesnt say anything of the sort in that link.

Funny thing is that apparently Mav was the best player according to the article.

Minch kicked 3 goals, Seb 3 brownlow votes, and Jack Steven the sealing goal, dunno how Mav ends up as the "bogeyman"

I'm really not sure what to tell you but this is not a pisstake, that is in the article.

I think he's clicked on his backlink with a pr0n page instead of the article. ;)

No idea why, but when I click the link it doesn't have the stuff about Hickey either.

But, on the AFL app when I just clicked on that article, it does. So yes, Hickey would have been dropped Joffa. I'm surprised, but hope Longer plays well in his place!

This game will be a good measuring stick for both clubs.

Geelong are undefeated but I am in no way 100% convinced they are a contender.
Freo were hopeless round 1, limped over NM after trailing the whole game, beat demons with 2 major outs and gawn going down injured and only ran over them in the 4th because of it, and beat a hopeless Hawks last week.

We haven't beat anyone of worth but a couple more of early conversions would have put Eagles away. We should have won and been 3-1, they should have lost to dees and be 3-1. Game is much more even than it would seem

Looking forward to seeing how the midfield goes without Armo and potentially Dunstan. Armo has been a great warrior for us, but I just can't see him capturing 2015 form now. Having Dunstan and Armo in the same midfield has been doing my head in for some time now. I think Stevens can give us an extra 5+ possessions a game over Dunstan, and offer the same grunt work around the ball.

A major limitation of both Dunstan and Armo is their complete inability to play any other position. If both don't play we may see a bit more unpredictablity around our centre square line up. Gresh, Steele, Acres, Stevens, even Weller could all get a look in.

The Cats should be nervous about this game, we match up well. Have seen a bit of them this year, their record absolutely flatters them. Should probably be sitting 2-2, whereas we really should be 3-1.

Boom.

Lets hope Billy adapts to the new rules better than Hickey did and that Hickey gets himself right and comes back breathing fire.

They're both Saints so we back them both to do well

Neo: how did you know?
Oracle: Ohh, what's really going to bake your noodle later on is, would Hickey have played poorly enough to be omitted if he wasn't sore?
