No. CH7 only has the deal for Saturday.

They cover the game that they want. Collingwood vs Essendon was on Sunday. The games they cover on a Saturday are at 12pm and the ones they cover on Sunday are at 11:30am. They still only cover the one game per round like ABC and the majority of games are on a Saturday.

These are the games on a Sunday on 7:
Rd 5 Richmond vs Collingwood* 11.42am
Rd 14 Geelong vs Footscray Bulldogs* 11.42am
*Sunday

Has to make changes this week... give Arnot and McDonough a run of games.. how far off are Menadue and Castagna? Is it time for McBean? Too early to bring in Elton?

I'd rather see these guys play and lose than see the same crap from Morris, Newman, Gordon, Chaplain, Hunt...

Lids if not right dropped or full time firward no midfield time.
I'm sorta for this as well.

Good hands overhead, pace, long kick. will be good at ground level, awkward matchup for opposition backline etc. Then crucially, ACTUALLY use him instead of kicking to Jack 3 on 1 every time.

If we keep getting it in there as much as we are, he won't have any excuse to go missing for periods of the game either. Think he's a bit overrated as a mid, can pinch hit in there for a bit just for rotations, but I'd rather throw some of the big bodied kids in there (????) and see what we've got.

Richo on 3aw today hit the nail on the head. He said we cant drop young players after one game like we have done this year. Lingy backed him up and said give them 6-8 games and see what they have to offer regardless how they perform.
Agree 100%. Give them some security.

To do that though, you have to be in Carlton's situation where everyone can see it's gone **** up and they need to rebuild.

Hardwick is still trotting out zingers like "We can beat anyone..." and "I'll back my players in any day...". Knows his balls are on the line, doesn't want to admit it's all gone wrong. So he'll persist with what he deems is 'best 22' until someone actually boots him out the door. Every week when he talks rubbish and leaves blokes like Morris and Newman in the side and Vickery coming in, you know he's not serious.

As always, this weeks selections will tell the story.

Exactly they earn their spot and then are given just 1 game, sometime not even that with sub rule. Its beyond ridiculous. If they earn their spot like they have, then they deserve a run of games its common sense. Its not like their doing any worse than the players that are doing stuff all and still getting a game every week.

Agree but you can't single one player out for doing something he shouldn't then drop someone else to bring a VFL player in.

Hardwick needs to come out this week, tomorow if possible and say something like " hey Dustin did something he shouldn't have done, we know why he did it, we accept that and he will learn from that and play next week". Anything less is weak leadership in a team lacking leadership on the field.

Yeah so this is what he has said after virtually every loss this season about the group.... most on here, scream about it....

Martin stuffed up, a couple of times and he shouldn't because he is a better player than that. End of story.... He had 30 touches, if anyone rates his game as any better than average they are kidding themselves. Dusty is always wanting big money, he toured GWS for goodness sake.... players on big money shouldn't make dumb arse errors like kicking 60 metres across goal to a 50/50.....

There may be an instruction to switch but it sure as hell wouldn't be.... switch at all costs even if you have to kick to a 50/50.... He stuffed up. He knows, the footy public knows.... he doesn't need to be dropped, he's just been named and shamed. Martin now needs to start earning the pay-checks he wants.... Less tats, more telling stats....

Personally I would trade him to the highest bidder. Should get a high first rounder and a very good kid in return (plus some space in the cap for another A grader).... something for the new coach to work with

How many media experts have coached and been shit? Its easy as an outsider to possess the magic beans and have a guaranteed theory for success, but if it was that simple we would have already won another 10 flags post 1980.

Houli is a poor footballer and plays scared
Twice yesterday went into a marking contest one handed and at least three of his half arsed tackles didn't stick
Watch his kicking struggles to hit a barn under no pressure , but people get dizzy over this spud

Too harsh.... he's far better under the high ball than when he got here.... has been one of the few to actually stand his ground under the high ball coming in this year.... still just a few hanging on to the old misconception.

He is still the ONLY one that creates run out of the backline other than a few Rance crazy moments.... Also one of the few blokes who rarely gives up a turnover with a short kick.... He makes longer mistakes which after 92 points from short turnovers on Sat, is a pleasant relief...

Houli is the least of our problems other than the fact that if he goes down, we will lose every game he missed by 50+ and will score less than 60 points ourselves....

He is not a gun but he is one of very few Tigers to play their role most weeks....

Hammer needs to play sadly, alongside Ivan - so that we get a better 4 qtr contest at stopages.
Between Morro and Newman we have at best half an AFL player in terms of output anyway so one of these dudes needs to make way for Hammer.
(Can't believe I have said that!)

No.... no Hammer. Between Ivan , TV and Griff we have enough to cover every rucking combo and we have enough versatility to swing them through the forward line.... As soon as Griff went down our suspect structure became instantly more suspect.... We need to try 3 talls and try it with our best 3 talls.... Astbury as a back at this stage... Play JR, Griff and TV and play them for a month. I'd even throw McBean in there as well (maybe not but he'd get a good match up). With Lids/Titch/Dusty down there to kick/crumb goals. No Gordon, no Newman, No Lloyd, No Morris....

Disagree as he gets away with a lot
Constantly disappoints when the heat is on , but he does have friends
Is best 22 but that means nothing as we don't bat that deep

There's no spark in the team. To me, it looks like the coach has lost his way with the players.
Meanwhile we have to put up with the bottom core of teams flying past us. StKilda have played with so much gusto the last two weeks, why can't our boys do the same !! It's sad that it's more enjoyable watching other teams play. There is something fundamentally wrong with our club, that we are back in the same position as last season, after turning it around in second half of last year.
Hardwick to go and start playing the kids (and give them a proper go). Bring George and Menedue in for some run and excitement - it might jolt a few of their so called established senior players.

I still can't believe 2 years ago we drafted Gordon and Lloyd and no other kids????

Besides Lennon of course...

It was really stupid, the draft was a bit average though so at least we stocked up last year.

What's more annoying is the two mature age players are near walk-up selections or first change, and the first pick with quality skills can't even get a decent look in. Lennon needs a run in the seniors to develop his game.

It's so annoying and has been plaguing this club for soooo long. There should be a written rule that if a young player earns a call up we give him 3 games minimum. The only exception is if he replaces said injured player and said player is fit the next week and the young player was one of the worst on the ground.

We have it back the front old players (24+) should be required to outperform younger players or be dropped. Younger players should be given experience and always be given breakeven older players. In other words we should be playing Lennon and McDonough over Lloyd and Gordon until Lennon or McDonough show they are not ready after 3+ games in their best position and Lloyd or Gordon are knocking down the door for selection.

Improvement gains in 24+ players would be about 10% on average from AFL experience.

Improvement gains in 23 and under players would be about 100% on average from AFL experience possibly more.

The different is you gain about 10x more in improvement from younger players gaining experience in AFL than older players, so why are we wasting our time with fringe players over 23?
