Round 6 The Sydney Swans vs. The Brisbane Lions

Jonathan Brown declares himself fit to take on against the Swans.

I am not sure if this is the brightest thing Brown has done. He clearly was hindered with his movement against Melbourne. Does anybody think, this would affect our chances?

Brown is not 1005 - this will definitely help.

Biggest positive - it is non-Vic versus non-Vic - so, the Vic umpires will cheat both teams and ensure an even contest.

Swans have beaten low ranked teams - true - but we have been whupping them by 6-7 goals - sign of a good unit.

I'm expecting a strong 4 goal win - Braddy kicks 5.

If brown lines up and is injured it can only help our cause, but if he really has been carrying the injury for a few weeks, it certainly didn't affect him in the 1st 4 rounds so much.

If Brown is as hampered as he was last Saturday night then I don't think his inclusion makes any difference. He'll provide a good marking target but be effectively useless defensively if Grundy decides to run off him all night.

Uninformed comment as the Umpires are recruited from all over Australia and it doesn't matter where their from we get a shit go. We never get rewarded for our tackling, which is the best.

Brown is confident of playing says he pulled up well enough after carrying a lower ab strain last week and feels better.

Bradshaw to kick 14 and look up at the paddle pops coach's box and blow a kiss after everyone of em...:thumbsu:

one non victorian club bedford (not us) has made quietly discussed the merits with other non Victorian clubs to keep an eye on one Victorian umpire bedford. We've had him once this year I Believe.

Other than that I agree with what you say.

This shall be gooood.

Oh and Grimlock

I agree that a flanker like Mattner or Kennelly should be able to keep an eye on Staker but if Brennen were to play deep it could expose us a little. It was just a point as to why to bring Richards into the team for this game.

If they don't go big he can always fill the whole in front of Fevola..... Again.

Bolton's a huge out, despite Grundy and Roberts-Thompson being in great form. He's always done a great job on Brown.

Should be a cracker. Brisbane are far better than what the put out last week, while we've been cruising against pretty paltry opponents. Hoping for a 30+ crowd.

This is a valid comment.

Still worried about how we'll cope with B2's absence. He's been the glue that's held the backline together for the past few seasons now and I know Reg and LRT can cope with the big forwards now but I think they will miss his on-field leadership out there...

Leaning towards us now Merrett's out - the match-ups may tip in our favour. Hope Sherman doesn't come back in though, he tore us a new one in both games last year.

Don't expect Richards to come in, it will be out of Rohan,Vez or Barlow.
(To the music of the Looney Tunes cartoon, "The Gambling Bug")...Please not Barlow, anything but The Barlow...

Seriously, if he's been playing well in the twos, then ok. That's IF...Plus, from what I hear Vez has been doing really well too. Barlow would have to down a few 20kg bags of cement before he comes back into the firsts...

I need me some Rohan! :D

His awesome pace and athletic ability will give them something to really worry about! From memory, he runs the 100m in just over 11secs and the 200m around 22.5 (for comparison, Usain Bolt's recent world record is at 19.30)...not to mention he won the state high jump title!! :thumbsu:
