Quick question - if rookies do get dropped for this round, would anyone change up their trade plans to trade them out? Are there only some rookies that this would apply to?

At this stage, the only one that fits this category for me is Berry, as I think I can justify holding the Swans rookies or a Jordon for a game or two.

Rowe, Bergman, Waterman, Scott, hell even Kosi has a bit money to eek out now.

I was only planning on doing 1 trade this week (Campbell > McCreery) but with a few of our rookies due for a rest after playing 5 games straight and so many of them playing on Sunday, unless you're using a 2nd trade for an upgrade this week, it might be a good idea to wait until the Sunday teamsheets drop before pulling the trigger on a second trade. If Berry for instance is rested this week I may go a week early and downgrade him to LMacrae with a second trade. Thankfully Collingwood also play on Sunday and they have 2 (maybe more) viable downgrade targets to choose from this week.

Having so many rookies playing on a Sunday makes me bloody nervous.

Had been basing my previous trades around getting Oliver this week after DeBoer gave him a bath for half a game, but Neale has put his hand up to be picked ahead of him.

Lower price, lower BE, better for my byes, VC option.

Would love to have both but won't be able to work it.

Going Neale over Oliver also leaves me with a bit more coin, and gives me a better chance of being able to afford Sidebum next week.

After that it'll be all about building the bank for Ridley.

All your Sunday on field rookies will be fine mate.

The bench ones I'd say Campbell and Waterman play.

Any advice? First time playing this year and kind of stumped on what to do. Got 2050 last week. Was thinking of Campbell/Berry/Clarke for Oliver but then not sure which DEF rookie to bring in. Or I could go a Premium defender (Bowes/Ryan/Saad) and Fin Maccrae. But kind of want to wait till Ridley is cheaper in a few weeks....
Cheers

Probably just going to do Campbell -> Jones via DPP at this stage. If Gulden is rested, I'll go up to a premo, or if Jordon and Berry both miss, I'll go down to Macrae or McCreery, which would leave around 340k for upgrades next week.

You think McCreery is worth it? I haven't seen either of his games so have no idea. Seems the best option for a downgrade this week.

Neither have I. Just going off what I've read about him on here. It's a bench spot, so scoring 50s at his price he should make cash so long as his JS is solid, which it i believe it is.

I have seen both games he looks like he will be a good player goes pretty hard at the ball and looks a lot more comfortable than Henry did. I can't see him being dropped he has been ok in that forward pocket role.

ANY SUGGESTIONS (I HAVE $11,600 IN THE KITTY)?
Daaaaaaamn gurl
I would almost hold - with so little in the kitty, you could look to trade in a McCreery or Treacy to get a bit of cash to then go one up, one down with Junior Macrae and Neale next week
Not sure who to downgrade though - I'm bullish on trading out Warner, with Rowbottom coming back his CBA will drop. Campbell or Berry could be the other two.

He should almost certainly stay in. Adds some much needed forward pressure for the pies. Looks more comfortable than Henry but lacks the class. Works hard

Alternatively, could go Campbell -> McCreery and Warner -> Walsh, but feel like it's too early to boot Warner considering he's playing good midfield minutes.

You're doing really well, especially for a first-timer.
No real urgency to do anything necessarily, except that you have all that cash burning a hole in your pocket.
I don't see any downgrade targets that are must-haves for you.
Clark and Campbell the obvious upgrade targets.

Campbell -> Duncan or Boak is the best you can do in the middle.

I'm not sure that there are too many forwards that make sense right now.
Campbell -> Greene via Brockman if you want to be bold.

I'd lean towards an upgrade in defence.
Clark -> any defender you want. Lloyd for under 600k is a steal, even if he drops again next week. Likewise Ridley. Yes can could wait and get them cheaper next week, but then you don't get the points they score this week.
Stewart, Bowes, Mills, Short, Docherty. all other viable options.

re McCreery, I think he'll get a block of games, but may get a rest soon as he isn't the fittest bloke

1st for team tackles vs the Giants
equal 4th for team tackles vs the Eagles

They can't drop a bloke that's tackling in the forward half

if I wasn't bringing in a premo this week, I would happily get him

In saying that, I think you can go early on Macrae JS wise, but there's obviously still an injury or rest risk, so better to wait

Mcreery
Game 1 - 1 goal and 8 tackles to go with 7 disposals - 56 SC points
Game 2 - 2 goals and 3 tackles to go with 11 disposals - 58 SC points

Looks like a solid enough option but not a must have.

I'm passing as he doesn't fit my structure and would force another fwd rookie onto the field. Passed on Waterman for similar reasons
