Trades Round 6 Trades

with all this cash sitting in my bank now. i can bring in anyone i want. sounds good. really isnt because now i dont know who i want lol.

planning to save the boost and just go 2 trades at a time. this week is 2 down with grundy and rowell out. next week 2 down 1 up with hayes in and an upgrade of my choice.. maybe steele. week after 2 up will be looking at piggy and king gull.

main question is who are the must have players. do you go for bonafide stars like steele lloyd and oliver. or do you go for the upcomers like english green and sinclair. will sit on this conundrum for another week...

New podcast with Nelso is up now, refer this thread. We’re far from nailing this whole podcast thing and I reckon it isn’t too bad for only having done four of them.

Interested in your views and any suggestions you may have. And, of course, we’re looking for our next board reg to join us as a guest if either or you, or anyone else, is keen. Normally do them Sun or Mon night and takes less than an hour so not onerous.

I've got 31 trades and $44.1k.

Ranked 23k which isn't great. But like a lot of people who have had a slow start, don't feel like my team is too bad.


This is what my team would look like after this potential trade combo:

• Hinge -> Rosas
• Stephens -> Preuss
• Rowell -> Petracca

Next week I'd be looking at Luke Parker and Same Hayes, maybe for JHF and another rookie.


Any thoughts on the team or the trades are appreciated

Ridley & Whitfield are the concerns i see on your team apart from that looking very good

this was my original thinking.. might even stick rowell on the bench and field noddy. grundy gets a week to show hes not a dud and a week to see if preuss is the real deal. also gives rowell a week to show he still has big scores in him. would rather risk the 50k change in prices compared to trading out 2 potential keepers.

I don't think that is true.
Xerri will make 200k from starting at the same price as him and he rucks with Goldy each week.
80 average would be all he needs to make that and he can get that while sharing ruck duty's.
He probably would need to be solo ruck to become a keeper. But I don't think folks are bringing him in expecting that.

I haven't got the stats, but I would be genuinely surprised if the ruck split has been 50/50. I'd say 65/35 Xerri.

I want to bring him in so desperately for gash generation but I'll need to burn a rookie, who are all doing well, and burn a trade when I need to cull him.

i went with gibcus. sdk or paddy would be next off the rank. although theyve all got cash to make. preuss has a lot more to make in such a shorter time. ridding yourself of a kpf rook for preuss i think is the way to go.

Cheers. Agree 100%. A decent chance I’ll trade Whitfield but I think I’ll just keep Ridley and hope he can be acceptable over the course of the season.

I was in the same boat.
Chose to trade Grundy over a rookie.
I end up with R1 Gawn R2 Preuss R3 Dixon, Hayes, Xerri.
I figure Preuss's Inevitable injury is not such a risk as I have the best ruck cover I have ever had.
I don't mind using it.
80 average is pretty much the worst any ruck averages. Rucks have an increased floor.
He will do that easily.

I think if you don’t have Macrae he’s just going to keep burning you, might not be great value at the moment but if you’ve got the opportunity now I would take it

I thought this week would be the best time to use my first trade boost. Only used two trades in the first five rounds so we’ll worth spending some to get some upgrades, and then hold for a few more weeks.

I’ve mentioned that I would like to get a defender upgrade in but not sure how to go about the actual trades. I wanna get either Witherden, Sinclair or another defender in so would love some suggestions or if I should wait and upgrade another position maybe.

Yeah I know, I am being aggressive but cautious, I need him, he's a massive stepping stone to an extra premium. End of the day he goes up only 150k then he's out, just trade him out for a 102k fwd/ruc and you've banked yourself 250k. That's basically Nick Martin to any premium mid or fwd.

The way I'm looking at it is, I am exchanging 1 trade for 200k now, if there was an option in the game to do that would you? Probably.


I think I'll use my second boost and bring him in.

If you want to upgrade a defender go for Hewett, is still value at $516k
