Team at the conclusion of Round 2:
xco0KU9.png

Score: 2292
Weekly Rank: 21,268
Overall Rank: 26,313 (38,686)
Heroes: Laird, Doedee, Finlayson, Dangerfield, Martin, Mitchell, Fyfe, Kelly, Holman, Smith, Ryan
Villains: Sicily
Trades Made: None
Trades Planned: Probably none. I think I've got all the must-have rookies.

Defence: 7/10

3 tons, plus an 80 for Lachlan Murphy on the bench, but Sicily failed to replicate his first round heroics. The Crows are leading the line nicely, and hopefully McGovern will be okay for next week and beyond.

Midfield: 9/10

Tim Kelly backs up his heroics. Zorko works through the tag to redeem himself, and Holman has the lowest score on field in the midfield with a 92. Even the bench midfielders all scored above 60. It's usually not a brilliant idea to start the most expensive players, but Mitchell and Martin have been superb, and Dangerfield ensured I wasn't too badly punished for not having a loophole option, or indeed, having Dusty (C) straight out.

Rucks: 6/10

Nothing to write home about, nothing much to complain about. Naitanui's workload is still being managed, hopefully his TOG will increase as the season goes on.

Forwards: 6/10

Last week it was Tim Kelly, this week it's Liam Ryan on the bench as I lose another 80 odd points to having the wrong rookies on field. I knew the forward line would give me the most short-term pain, but I got every decision right except Garlett ON, Ryan OFF. Good to see Fritsch complete the game after being hurt too.

---

Comments: Reasonably happy with my start, and I think I've got a good springboard for the rest of the season - with better luck and better choices, I might have a hundred more points in the bag, but not everything works out. Hopefully my rookies will be able to generate quick cash and allow me to upgrade quickly.

Well not overly happy and not stroppy either, ended up on 2328. Once again i didnt trust the form of rookies so had Murray on the field over Doedee and Brayshaw on the field over Doedee also had fristch on the field over Ryan so could have had 2500 with the right rookies on the field. Had a few blokes like Lobb, Billings, Omeara, and Sicily let me down but overall not too bad.

The Delicious:

Dusty, he's done it again, no slowing down for the big fella.

Laird, Looking shit hot early on in the year. Glad i went him as my only 500k+ player over Hibberd.

Coniglio, for his price he has been a great pick so far, he'd be top 6 mids so far id imagine,

Mclean, Libba out obviously has helped his score but couldnt be more happy with him 2 weeks in.

Finlayson, what an absolute gun, love him role and im in no rush to bring a defensive premo in the way him and Doedee are looking

Kelly, nothing needs to be said apart from rookie of the year, the 3 amigos dont seem to affect his scoring much apparently.

The Good:

Savage, 2 average games so far but has scored 2 90's so cant comlplain, lots of room for improvement.

Danger, well 130 is nothing to sneeze at despite not a great game.

Fyfe, Its good to have the man bun back in the 100's.

Cripps, looking gravy af.

Goldy, as above

Gawn, as above

Heeney, after a bad first quarter had a decent game, still room for improvement

Devon, so far so good, great value for money as has found his role there. Looking good.

The Bad:

Sicilly, ahh well we knew what we in for with him, lets hope he has a better game next week

Omeara, 22 touches but obviously wasnt great with the ball and a few free kicks against, will stick with for the time being with a man of his talent.

Billings, bad week for him personally and his team, will stick back in to be a top 6 fwd.

Lobb, Pathetic, hes on watch.

The Meh:

Murray, gone for Doedee on the ground this week.

Bonner, was never going to score the same as he did vs freo but decent enough game for his price.

Brayshaw, still have faith in the young lad but id be stupid to ignore form and play him ove Holman this week.

Fristch, about what youd expect from a player in his role, will probably play Ryan or Venners over him this week.

Overall things could be alot worse, was happy to see L.Murphy finally start mooing a bit and the 2 eagles score some decent points on the bench. Still dont think ill be trading this week at all. I'd like to get T.Mitch and Bundy in but i think ill stick with my squad atm.

No pressing issues here.

Will put Holman and Ryan on the ground for their first run.

Not trading after 2 rounds is foreign territory for me. LOL!

You finally had the balls for a 2-1-5 defence. Hats off to you, we’ve been talking about it for years but you finally went there, and it’s paying off.

Haha! Cheers Jiska :p

Yeah this was finally the year to take the risk I reckon.

I just couldn't see any decent defenders I liked after Laird.

Savage, Simpson and Sicily were all at D2 at some stage.

Wish I had have gone Simpson over Savage but Savages JLT form made me pick him instead!

Oh well, can't really complain. I reckon this is the best starting squad I have ever come up with! :D:thumbsu:

You seem to be pretty terrible at this game over a long period of time for someone that puts so much time into a weekly review. :moustache:

I forgot I set up a second team based on the best rd 1 scorers... and it scored less than my actual (dud) team.

That's an odd little win, even if it's just me beating myself.

Cheers bruv, im quite content with where im at apart from the ususal rookie **** ups. Youd be up there in the overall ranking now after 2 great weeks wouldnt ya mate?

Your teams in pretty good shape dude.

I'd look at moving O'Meara on though.

What do you think?

Am ranked 344 atm, quite surprised at that to be honest!

F@rked up my captain big time by going Josh Kelly.

Didn't even put the VC on Dusty! D'oh!
