Because people don't understand how important it is to have players that can conserve every other bloke on the field by staying on. That's why Tom Mitchell's loss is so huge - sure he was a huge chunk of our midfield, but the bloke was out there 90% of the game on average.
Brad Hill is a massive whipping boy the entire time he is at the Hawks and consistently gets called soft

Loses Brad Hill and people realize how important he was to the team

Gets Tom Scully just for people to treat him the exact same way...

Fantastic effort and admit didn't see that coming in previous form.

We should have won by a lot more if we took our chances earlier on but still a great effort to beat one of the flag favourites.

Just about everyone were very good today especially the blokes who came in. Frawley, Ceglar, Morrision, Cousins, O,Brien, Scrimshaw etc and then Stratton, Hardwick etc much improved.

Best? Team effort!

Well done boys, great game!

Awesome and let's bring on the Tigers!

This has made my day as bloody wrapped!

Pre game thread was tough to read this week, lots of down and out supporters and much doom and gloom. One win doesn’t change that, we are not going to win the big dance this year. But still, I loved watching that game, Mitch Lewis, Cousins, Scrimshaw, some super efforts. The forward line functioned much better, not sure what that means for Rough but it was clear that the forward line needed the refresh ✌🏻

The five inclusions during the week all had a major impact!

Cousins: 25 disposals - 11 marks - 3 inside 50s - 1 goal
Frawley: 17 disposals - 8 marks (kept Cameron goalless)
Morrison: 17 disposals - 7 marks
Scrimshaw: 15 disposals - 2 marks (2 contested)
Ceglar: 13 disposals - 6 marks (2 contested) - 2 goals

Good win but we're still painful to watch for the most part.
Nothing wrong with getting excited but wins like this dont change all the issues/concerns that were raised throughout the week about our list, youth ect.

Did anyone watch Slobbo and Gerard on AFL 360 last week and 'real or over reaction?' Posed the question as to whether hawks were done and needed to rebuild the list.

Gerard went over reaction and said given Clarko's record he wanted to wait a few more weeks before writing us off.

Slobbo went 'real' hawks are cactus. Yet more quality analysis and insight from the laziest 'journalist' getting around.

Why on earth would anyone take any notice of what those two idiots say?

Clarko always mentions he's trying to find the right balance. I think we've found it with our defence and midfield. On paper, GWS slaughter us in these areas but thanks to our structures and individual efforts we held strong.

Still tentative about the forwards. 71 won't be enough to win you most games and we're still having major scoring troubles. But Lewis & the McEvoy/Ceglar combination showed extremely positive signs.

Really? It was still unpolished going forward but our youth were very good today. All you need is signs from them at this stage and Hodgey, Cousins and Worpel are being asked to do more than they should be at this young age and standing up very strongly. How many 20 year old key forwards lead a forward line in a competitive team?

Nah
That was an awesome comfortable win against one of the best sides in the comp. with Wingard, Mitchell, Smith sitting on the sidelines.
