Something that has worried me since the NAB cup is how easy teams move the ball against us after we have launched an attack that breaks down. Against the good teams that can actually hit a target, like the Eagles, it is almost always a forward fifty entry and mark with a free player for them after a string of passes to loose players. Something needs to be done about it.

I think we now where we sit this year. West Coast are in another league to us.
That decision against West Coast for a throw after advantage called Wtf ??
Watters has got some work to do as our small forwards are well and truely covered
obviously has been a big part of West Coasts planning after last week.
Cox & Hill making our backline look really undersized.

Hmmm, what the **** do I say about that first half?

First of all, and this has been mentioned continuously, whose ****ing idea was it not to pick up a backup ruckman? Sorry, but surely we should have picked one up to at least be an option.

Secondly, what the **** happened from last week to now? Have we forgotten how to hit a target? Where's the effort? Absolutely deplorable. Riewoldt looks in ripping nick, and played very well. Too bad he's got no help.

Beau Wilkes has been mentioned, but **** me, if we wanted a ****ing backup defender, why not pick up a player in the state league who plays his best football as a defender. He is either a KPF or in the 2's.

Fisher and Gwilt coming back next week would be a godsend Please let it happen.

And yes, technically, it was a throw :D

Sorry, but there's been a fair gap between us and the Eagles, Essendon & Adelaide for a fair while now (probably 2 quarters into round 1, definite by round 3) this was simply going to be the acid test if we bridged said gap and would compete instead of filling numbers, as one week against Carlton does not a trend make.

As much as we may be missing key individuals, we're nowhere near these sides at present with far too much variable efforts and rather insipid skills by some players.

Loosing Stanley has stuffed us completley. Blake needs to spend more time in the ruck so Wilkes has to go back to cover Blake which is a disaster waiting to happen.

Maybe throw Wilkes in the ruck? We're going to lose the rucking contests no matter what, might as well use Blake in defence where he'll be more effective than Wilkes!

Why don't we just chuck wilkes in the ruck and rove their taps... might work better than having someone in defence who is completely lost.

Bit of unluckyness but also alot of skill error, watching the match and the height of WCE forwards are literally crushing us. Roo is literally the only forward for us... sadly I thought this might happen not sure why just had a gut feeling but i didn't think it would be this bad.

After loosing stanley we have 8 hitouts to 27 which is just ridiculous... even so we have had amazing efforts from our midfield with just 5 less inside 50s, considering the amount of chances their getting thats pretty good. Who needs to step up then you ask?

Bloody hell everyone, even Roo, yeah hes kicked 4 but he misses a sitter just before half time... midfield need to get into sixth gear, and defence need to just spoil dont try and outmuscle those steroided WCE forwards because u wont, they're too strong.

Who do we put in the ruck at centre bounce? unfortunatley Jason blake seems like the best option but that would force Wilkes into D despite giving kosi a chance forwards, it's better to get kosi in the centre and chuck wilkes up forward.

Skill errors are costing us big, Stevens needs to step up havent seen much of him, Milera step up with your speed, Dal santo get into it. Ontop of that some of the 1st quarter for prosffesional footballers is just embarrassing.

EDIT: Commentators saying that there is now a breeze probably worth 3 goals, they say they haven't ridden off the saints just yet. i agree, but step up or start getting ready for next week...

I feel for Wilkes a bit. He obviously has some demons to exorcise from his time at the Eagles and has come out and had a shocker: not exactly making them feel bad they let him go. Some players react well to playing against an old club. Others don't. Wilkes looks like he belongs in the latter category. He's probably trying too hard.

He should be kept away from defence where he is a liability and played forward this half. The match is gone anyway.....

2nd qrt saints had 8 clearences WC 4

14 marks inside 50 to 4 WC way

Why dont we throw Wilkes into the ruck hes played there in the reserves as a pinch hitter. At least he will doing something there even if its just pressure!!
Clearances in the 2nd qrt show we dont need to win the taps to get the ball!

1st goal in frist 3 qrts (so it seems Watters is doing a good job in between terms)

Blake should ruck the rest of the game. Some clown on this board was suggesting he should be dropped last week. Pfffffffft

Add Collingwood , Hawks too that list.
People been talking about our depth this week how players on the cusp are pushing for selection. We now have no rucks. As good as Gwilt is he´s coming off a knee reco and Fisher is still not fit so it´s a bit worrying.
We´ve started well this quarter though:)

Terrible free against Blake then.

Love Dwayne Russell trying to justify it

Ump pulled that one for Cox too.....

Hard to win when it's 22 against 25
