Why is anyone talking about making wholesale changes to a team that just beat the ladder leaders on their home deck? If you’re injured, you’re out. Otherwise we back the same players in to get the job done again.
i wouldn't say wholesale changes, just red spot specials included to cover injuries and to bring as many as is not a liability to familarise the less initiated to the pace and expectations so we have real depth that is as close to interchangeable without loss of quality, as is possible. Now is the hour for that. Otherwise we risk exposing them at the wrong time.

Any confirmation on injuries this week?

Battle listed as a test. Seb and Kent not on the injury list. Everything else as reported, inc. Hanners' season effectively being over.

edit: Saints 'In the Mix' article up and it's pretty standard. Doesn't seem to talk up anyone in particular, just an overview of who is likely to come in during the intense block of games as nominal Best 22 players need to be load managed.

Looking forward to seeing Wilkie. For some reason I feel his three worst games have all been at the Adelaide oval. Not saying he was bad defensively but he did seem fumbly over the last two weeks.
he did look more fumbly that usual, but I think that was because 1 - he's normally so clean, and 2 - everyone was fumbly cos it was wet. Lots of dropped marks and fumbles with the slippery ball

Injury list updated on AFL website, current as at today and neither Seb nor Kent listed as injured. Battle listed as Test.

Honestly you would think to just go in with the same team since we just beat Port on their home deck; rest Battle a little and get him ready for an intense block of games. Get one more game from Seb and then perhaps look at resting him for a couple during the intense block.
Seb's last game was slightly better, maybe he's slowly coming out of his form slump. Yes he is a little slow and his decision making is hit & miss but his passing is pretty useful when it works, he can do those low angled bullet kicks quite well when he doesn't panic.

He's being used at the moment as 2nd or 3rd man in the handball chain between contested ball and inside 50, plus tackling and tagging which is probably a good use of him. Rather he do this against a tough Sydney midfield than bring in someone from the fringe.

He didn't win the last 2 B&FS for no reason, there is quality there, he and Steele have swapped roles IMO, and it's taking the shine off his game. I think they might switch again later when Steele gets tired.

He just didn't even seem to touch it. I hardly noticed him apart from his kick outs. He must have sat on Gray and sacrificed his game.

I agree that he plays this week if not injured.

On the whole Seb question - I am really not a fan of his atm. For mine it's not a question of role; he can have 8 - 10 touches for all I care if that's his role. The problem is his disposal and lack of awareness. It is so ordinary this year. Basic handballs missing targets and/or putting teammates under pressure. Getting caught htb.

I'm fine with a role that means less touches but disposal quality is non-negotiable and it's poor right now.

I started to watch the replay and he didn't seem to be on the field for a good chunk of the first quarter, certainly not starting in the midfield anyway. I realised the first time I'd noticed him was at about the 11th minute mark. I think he only played 58% of the match.

Impressions lasting?? I don't know but regarding Seb...I'm not saying what I'm thinking is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but.....Against lesser teams he he can be sublime but under pressure he just doesn't give the impression he copes. He works hard to get to the ball but frequently kicks it or disposes of it to the opposition especially coming out of the highly contested centre area. His attempts to adapt to the speed of a high pressure game seem to compromise his efficacy. You see mistakes happen in others but he seems to consistently give the impression that he is overwhelmed. Considering his experience and level of tenure this shouldn't be the case.

I rate Seb, but some of his handballs were pathetic!! Did have a decent game overall tho

Agree that’s how I’m seeing him at the moment. Knows how to get his hands on it but just looks for Any options to get rid of it . He has zero time and space and his kicking lacks any penetration . Found someone inside 50 in the last q which was a nice change. Would still persist with him with Hannebery gone now .

Agreed..dropping him may not achieve the desired aim of getting him through that point of contention...however it does give someone else the option of proving they can do better. In a game whereby one percenters do contribute greatly to a combined winning performance.....that may be critical. The best outcome is that he suddenly breaksthrough and creates the time and vision to become the fantastic player we all want him to be...that we all feel he can be.

George nice to see i got banned recently for defending myself but you'll allow comments calling me a troll and a fake.

I can't have an opinion WITHOUT being ridiculed or picked on. Don't like my opinion scroll past

Parker did nothing and was fumbling alot...Coffield had 7 touches. Paton turns it over common sense. Do u watch games?

Paton saved our skin in the 3rd Q against Port. Watch the game again & this time with both eyes open.

If Ross & Kent are fit then bring in Battle for Parker. On second viewing Hind wasn’t too bad. He retains his spot over Lonie...for now.

Its interesting , most clearances against Adelaide , Steele.
Most against Port, Jones.

Its good we aren't relying on the same people each week, because no-one gets up against everyone.

Coffield 7 touches @ 100%. Defenders will not always get the ball a heap and can have quieter games when higher importance is placed on the defensive side of their games. Besides this game, he averages 15.3 disposals this year. Dropping him for one game where he didn’t get the ball enough is ridiculous.

Paton has 16 disposals (8 INTERCEPTS) @ 75% efficiency. You clearly don’t watch the games.

As for Parker, yeah he fumbled on a couple of occasions but his presence clearly worried the opposition. He wasted his set shot when he kicked it out on the full, BUT he drew a free kick directly in front of goal and Gresh and Kent took advantage resulting in a goal, and he also kicked a bullet pass to Butler resulting in a goal (ironically, this was the same play that he fumbled which is apparently reason for dropping him, ha ha). Having a direct hand in 2 goals and should’ve converting himself isn’t “nothing”. If those are the standards than Lonie has done nothing half of the games throughout his career.

I'll agree with you in that some comments towards you were too far. However majority weren't - when you make outlandish statements then expect to be criticised for them. If people don't like your opinion they are well within their right to question you on it.

Of course they dont have to agree, but to be called a troll, a fake etc is pathetic i bet infact guarantee half the trolls haven't spent over $4000 grand to the football club over the last3 years like I have but yes im the 'troll' some wouldn't even be members.

I guess they just can't see the reasoning behind you constantly wanting three of our players out of the side irrespective of their form.
