Too late to post in the Round 8 discussion so here it is:

You really have to keep up with all relevant news, do the captains loophole every week and get all the rookies right or you're SOL and JWF in this game. I don't know how I completely missed the boat on this Ben Ronke fella and here I am stuck with Garlett who never scores well and isn't making money and Fogarty who isn't getting enough games or scoring well enough to make money. Then I'm still stuck with Dom Barry who isn't getting games. Holman who's maxed out and not made enough to make a worthwhile trade with, Dow who still hasn't even made close to a 100k and now Naughton who's apparently injured who I'll need to upgrade. I've had a look at rookies on the bubble and it's slim pickens.

Yet again Tim Kelly outscores more than 3 of my premos. Every f'n week there's at-least 3 that just don't deliver and hurt my scoring. I'm usually doing other things on the weekend so don't always remember to do the loophole and it's absolutely crucial in this game. I wanted to trade Luke Ryan after his previous few weeks but there wasn't any affordable sideways trades worth trading to and didn't have any rookies worth downgrading. Thankfully he came through with a great score but what will he average for the rest of the year? What the hell do I do with Bryce Gibbs? Now a 5 round avg of 80.

Now Doedee and Finlayson have maxed out and aren't scoring nearly as well as they first were so they need to go, but who for? Only Keefe is on the bubble and he hasn't scored well nor does he have good job security now that the Rock Lobster is back. Cumming? Only played one game and no idea what his job security is. Even though he's already made a ton of cash I still think Sicily is the next man to bring in to my backline as he's in the best form of any backman at the moment and is a must have. So Doedee & Finlayson > Cumming & Sicily? Is it too late to get on Ben Ronke? How do I salvage this team and get back on track?

Upgrade targets for now in no particular order: Yeo, Crouch, Olipig, Gray, Sicily (you need Cripps too but he's too $$ at the moment). If you are really strapped for cash get Zorko.
Downgrade targets: Doedee, Finlay, Naughton, Brayshaw, Banfield, Dow, Holman, Ratty, Fritsch (seriously get a ****ing shotgun and go to town)

Fritsch -> Gray is 100% locked in for me in R11, I would make sure you have enough cash to make that happen.

Cumming, Phillips have reasonable JS I think, I would go early on Phillips if you do need to go early on anyone (St Kilda going nowhere, should blood the youth).

Ronke is still gettable, he should make some okay cash for a quick offload after a couple of rounds (the 120 will make his price skyrocket and then level off very quickly when it leaves his 3 game average). I will probably take Scheer though (frees up more cash to spend now), I think both will make similar profit.

Just about the best midfield you could ask for. Only problem is no Macrae and everyone else saved big with Conglio which hurt your elsewhere.

I was wondering why you still have 8 rookies on field, then I saw 25 trades remaining. Which is 5-6 more than most teams. Says you haven't been keeping up with downgrading/upgrading.

As much as Sicily is a good get this week, you're defence is decent enough for now. Your midfield is your weakest line by far with your M7 & M8 averaging 50's. Your scores will remain low while you have these guys on field. Without knowing how much you have in the bank, I would do Holman > Ed Philips (and put Phillips on field) & Banfield > PREMO MID. There a quite a few quality under priced mids available for 500k or less at the moment.

Nice mid. Mine is very similar, except Cogs for MCrouch. I’m expecting similar output for both towards rest of season.



Eyeing off Rockliff following his bye next week (to become M9) and then Macrae following his R12 bye. TKelly will unfortunately be the sacrificial lamb, but you can’t get too attached to your rooks. Expecting him to slow towards back end of season
