Welcome, everyone. Here is GremioPower, once again on behalf of the S29 Rookie Class, this time to present you the S30 Rookie “Torch of the Year” Award.

Each week, a different rookie will get the title of Torch, considering his match-thread posting performance. It is all about the posts!

By the end of the Minor Round, more may join the 16 weekly nominees depending on their season performance. The best among them will be receive the PYRE, while the remaining Top-5 will form the TORCH GUARD.

The PYRE, the TORCH GUARD, and the rest of the TORCH LADDER will be announced during the Rising Star Award Night.

Have Fun!

Q&A

I. HOW DOES THE “TORCH OF THE YEAR” WORK?

Every week, a designated sophomore will analyze a particular match thread and pick the match thread winner. All rookies will also receive points based on the quality of their posts:
high (min. 10 posts), 5 points;
medium (min. 5 posts), 3 points; and
low (min. 1 post), 1 point.

Then, the match thread winners (either high or medium) become candidates for the award.

The Rising Star Committee may allow:
– a player not considered the best to be candidate, if those ranked above were already “Torch of the Week” previously; and/or
– low-quality thread winner posters to be candidates, if there aren't multiple match winners with high or medium quality in a round.

At last, the Rising Star committee will pick one among the candidates to be a TORCH, considering the players contribution to their teams’ respective match threads in that particular round. The winner will be announced prior to the following round.

II. DOES NUMBER OF POSTS MATTER?

Quantity is NOT important, but a minimum. This contest is about QUALITY. A few good posts value more than a lot of spamming.

III. HOW DOES THE PYRE AWARD AND THE TORCH GUARD WORK?

Those are cumulative. The players’ voting points during the season are added up. The player with most points wins the PYRE. Those placed between second and fifth are recognized as members of the TORCH GUARD. Any ties will be solved by the Committee.

Moreover, those among the Top-15 on the TORCH LADDER who weren’t “Torch of the Week,” they also receive the title of TORCH. The Committee may also give an extra TORCH for one rookie for his overall contribution in match threads, despite his position on the ladder.

IV. CAN ANY ROOKIE GET THE AWARD?

In order to participate, a rookie needs to apply for the award.

It’s simple. One just needs to post once in his team's match thread before the next match thread is up. If the Rising Star Committee misses a late entry, it's up for the rookie to point it out.

On-field performance is irrelevant. Just quality posting matter. There is no need to be fielded for any particular round.

Thus, it doesn’t matter where or if one plays. Everybody has a fair shot at the prize.

V. IS "THE TORCH OF THE YEAR" THE SAME THING AS "THE RISING STAR?"

No, it's not. The TORCH OF THE YEAR is just a part of the Rising Star Award. The main thread can be found here:

The best posters this week have been announced. They have set the match threads on fire, but only one will get the "Torch of the Year" nomination for Round 1.

Who should the Committee's pick this week?
