Since the committee of lazy campaigners is yet to announce the nom this week I think it’s safe to assume Muddiemoose is it. Congratulations compadre! Here’s yer trophy.

Have you seen what I did to Muddiemoose this week?

Please. Not even close.
I know the voting is behind closed doors, but Muddiemoose was several thousand dollars short of a nomination

But that’s for next week. We’re talking about last week. And that’s the gun side of the RS (pure luck), not the torch. I know this can be confusing for only rookies at shit clubs where noms are rare, but you’ll come to grips with it soon enough. Muddiemoose destroyed the Royals old stagers last week with his dynamic posting and he deserves the torch nom.

Hmm....

I’ve been named ‘Torch’ for my match thread 3 times in my first four matches & this week I schooled all 3 of your Bears rooks. Moose being the most impressive of your mob.

Honestly—- I expected more from you this week than what I saw, you were disappointing to be honest this week (on & off the field).

Come back to me when you win a nom champ. Then we can discuss application levels in boring match threads against sub-standard oppo. ;)

I know a fair bit about playing “sub-standard” opposition mate— I spent this week playing the Bears. If you remove Metalcrusher (who will return to the Bombers to captain them as soon as Testy lets him out) & Millky95 (who will leave to reform the Vampires at the end of the season) the Bears have one of the weakest lists in all the SFA.

Just because you lucked out with a few noms so far doesn't make you a favourite to win. ;)

Come back to me when you're actually the best rookie at your club.

Alright jerks, no niceties. Round 4 Torch nomination. Let's fight.

round 4b.gif

Same kids are up for contention. It's like under 12's kick to kick. There's some kids who are more skillful than others, and there's always one man-child who just crushes the weak. Even the coach is scared of the man-child. As it is here, same kids are kicking it to each other. Bear cub Muddiemoose loves the sight of his own image, and keeps presenting it to anyone within eyesight. Baby Bomber MITS loves wrapping stuff in plastic, whether it be other posters, family pets, other posters, his snorkel, anything really. Poor kid keeps getting Banhammered though. Shame. Young Gumby omgfridge loves self-depreciation and giving away free kicks. Roy Boy Supersuns loves KFC. Like REALLY loves KFC. Lil' Dragon T2B_ loves gifs, pissing contests and avocados. And Kid Fury Mister M loves [checks notes] 80's soft rock. idk.

Who's the nominee then? When the committee were looking for a man-child in this week's kick-to-kick, we couldn't go past the self-confessed "elite size" of Supersuns who, after four previous attempts, finally gets his nomination!

torch super.jpg

I sat down with the young Roy (which is a bit of an oxymoron but that's beside the point) and his captain TedDougChris to discuss the nomination. First up it's the captain of the Gorillas:

Bob: Hey there Ted. Well done to you & the team on a decent start to the season both on and off the field. Looks like you've unearthed some great new talent! How does it feel to have one of you recruits nominated for the Torch of the Week?

TDC: He's been nominated for what now ???

We've been happy with our start so far, gives us a good base from which to dramatically **** it all up at some later stage of the year...

Bob: Aim high mate! Congrats on getting Supersuns to the Roys. Where did you find him, and how are they settling in?

TDC: Supersuns came across after introductions from both Dingster and Millky95 - which we are very grateful for. He's settling in very well, made himself at home with the Coup D'etat group, led by Mooch.

Bob: Supersuns has been considered for nomination every round this season, but has only now broken through. Did you get the feeling for a while there that he was cursed or something?

TDC: Every since young Beandip was heinously robbed of a nomination, we've been vary wary of rookie awards. Barrybran still has a lot to answer for there. Our three rookies have been very prolific so far, lets see if they can sustain it across a whole season. We are always happy when good rookies get some deserved recognition in the league though.

Bob: Totally agree, but doesn't always happen. [stares forlornly into the distance for a good 30 seconds] What has their posting style been like?

TDC: Supersuns has been keen to post in his own style, with a combination of attempted coups, photoshop and general good natured posting - engaging with the opposition wherever possible.

Bob: I like it! What other young’uns have you brought to the club, and are there any rookies from other teams that you wish you had gotten your hands on whose posting you enjoy?

TDC: We have three rookies here this year, plus Dingster - so it's been a bit of change for us. They (Supersuns, RobR and BLUEALLTHRU) are still adapting to the club, the league and we're still adapting to them. We're looking forward to seeing some quality rookies across the season, but plenty of good posters have been burnt out by seasons end. That's when the quality will really become apparent.

Great stuff, thanks Ted! Now over to this week's nominee:

Bob: Hello Sunny. Congratulations on receiving a Torch of the Week nomination. You've been there or thereabouts all season, so it must feel nice to get the monkey off your back! What path did you take to get to the SFA, and where did you first hear about it?

Supersuns: I learnt about the SFA through the e-AFL season that was run on the main board. I originally agreed to join the Vampires expansion bid and after that bid failed Dingster kidnapped me and took me to the Roys.

Bob: Being kidnapped by a Hemsworth isn't a bad thing though, right? What are your first impressions of the place? Are TedDougChris & the Roys looking after you?

Supersuns: Been a great ride so far, the entire club has been very welcoming. TDC is a hard task master and I may or may not have been involved in any coup planning against him but he is good to stay while we are winning.

Bob: Harsh but fair. What's it like to be a rookie in a retirement village?

Supersuns: I like eating tea at 4:30, and the sponge bathes handed out by the nurses. Unfortunately all the other nurses are my fellow rookies.

Bob: How do you prepare for a match thread? I'm going to hazard a guess and say that the Colonel has a role to play.

Supersuns: Yes a family burger box is usually sacrificed to the Qooty gods by me, followed by some light stretching and 20 leg multis that have no chance of getting up.

Bob: What would you like to achieve off field during your SFA career? Have you ventured into the world of media yet?

Supersuns: To be remembered well, if I'm remembered for being an idiot or annoying that's okay too. Haven't ventured to far into it yet but baby steps.

Bob: Very true. Have there been any other teams that have stood out for you in the match threads or posters that you like the look of?

Supersuns: All of them have been pretty good so far, really enjoyed The Gumbies though. Cats2lose (cats2rise) was a great sparring partner for my first week.

Bob: Have you clashed with teams, or have found a nemesis yet?

Supersuns: My nemesis in the friendly way possible would be omgfridge. Mainly because I have clashed with many fridges over the years and-

Bob:

Bob:
and what, Sunny?

Supersuns: -and i feel a rivalry for the ages brewing.

Nice one mate. Congrats again Supersuns, all the best for the rest of the season. Here's your miniature novelty trophy.

Who will be the next Torch nominee? Will it be the same kids, or will someone new step into the ring? Who will win the next kick-to-kick? Will I post the thread on time this week? Stay tuned for the answers to these and literally three more questions.

Well deserved.
I love Supersuns work. And by work I mean generosity in the bribe department.

WHO IS GOING TO BE THIS WEEK'S “TORCH”?

Love Bradburying my way to a nomination. Probably the best week to stand out and I probably posted 5 times last week.
I'll make something up to give you a chance, I've got you buddy.

You may need to post more than 5 times this week if you want another nom Fridgey....

So, no chance of you winning this round, is that it?

Let's be honest--- I've got a chance to get both "Torch of the Week" & "Gun of the week" this week.

I could probably win a Torch nomination most weeks (one of the perks of being the sole rookie at the Furies)--- but it's not often that I move my ARSE around the field well enough to get a Gun nom. So I kinda hope that I get the "Gun of the Week" nom this week.
