Yep, I'm half expecting the 2024 season to end with Hardwick taking GC17 to their first ever finals series, then come down here and comprehensively outcoach Kenny Average and send us to another home elimination final loss. And we'll have to listen to all the apologists tell us how lucky we are to have him and how it's the players fault forever and always.

Going up for the one v Gold Coast. Staying at Royal Pines which will probably be the highlight.

Plenty of clubs have changed coaches in the last couple of years, but none of them chased Ken to be their new coach - which to me speaks volumes about how the broader football community views him.

Caro actually specified that Hinkley wouldn't be good enough for both Richmond and Gold Coast who were looking for coaches mid year. It's like catching a bullshit artist out. They say these very general things, yet when you drill down on the details, none of it matches up.

For all his faults, at least Cameron coached the Giants into a grand final. He also knew when his time was up - unlike our Ken, who seems to want to stay at Alberton until Essendon wins a final.

St Kilda who is in way worse financial debt fired Ratten in 2022, after extending for 2 years. Somehow Hinkley survived because of just 1 extra season on his contract, then gets another 2 seasons without a preliminary final appearance, after 11 seasons without a Grand final appearance? They should be scouting for all the premiership coaches to replace Hinkley with the team they have. Even Choco Williams would be better. Port won't get anywhere, reminds me of North Melbourne during the 2010's with Scott. And it's really strange their best AFL player Tredrea states the obvious and is crucified for it, must be Bizarro World at Alberton, these days.
