Hinkley really does bottle his own farts and smells them.
For the first 3 quarters of last Thursday Night's game, I honestly thought Carlton were playing pretty ordinary and were lucky to be ahead courtesy of some favourable umpiring, but perhaps most alarmingly a somewhat erectile dysfunctional foward line (something I suspect a condition probably suffers from)
It took herculean efforts from Cripps, Charlie and Walsh to blow the game apart in the final quarter for us, but even without Rozee, a decent coach with a disciplined and concise game plan and ability to function a decent foward would have had Port up by at least 2 or 3 goals at 3 quarter time.
I was actually rather pissed off myself by how Carlton were playing at 3 quarter time, but I find it absolutely incomprehensible Ken thought Port were playing very well up until then
Finally in the last 5 years, 3 NBA championship winning coaches (in a very tough 30 team league with parity), Nick Nurse, Frank Vogel and Mike Budenholzer were fired from their teams after a disappointing follow up season or two later, yet Ken Hinkley has somehow (like a cockroach) managed to break an 130 plus VFL/AFL record of 260 games (likely to make it 300) and counting without even making a bloody grand final.
And i see many neural supporters on this forum say you guys (life long dyed in the world and passionate Port Adelaide people) are way too hard/ungrateful to Kern.
That's just bullshit.
Johnny Elliott was a very flawed club president (esp with paper bags and disgraceful off field scandals) but generally speaking he would have *ed a coach like Kern off after 3 seasons (max) if we had one in the Hinkley timeline with the personal he had his disposal at Carlton.
Teflon Kochie just doesn't have that ruthless ambitious streak in him as chairman to do what is right for your football club.
He needs to go at the same time as Kern.
He has a mediocre/losers Mentality like Kern. Any good will he Gained from getting your club in a sound financial state after his first few years long gone.
If nothing else, philreich (one of my very favourite people on this forum) deserves to enjoy watching and be proud of his footy team again
