Unless Carr can bring in the people he wants around him, I feel we will get much of the same.
Koch may think he will have more control over Carr than Donuts, they all need to go for this to work for Carr.

That's literally what they want. It's a succession plan. They think Kenny is doing great and want more of the same

Bassett might’ve been stale, he might’ve slipped behind the bleeding edge of what the best back-half structure looks like, and he might’ve lost a lick of drive and ambition to continue at AFL level,

But compared to Tyson Goldsack and Chad Cornes, he’s Bill Belichick.
Do you remember when his name was in the mix for a Senior role.

Mighty fall to be behind those names

If only there had been some way to just resolve all of this at the end of last season. To get rid of Ken without needing to sack him, keeping everyone happy, and to have Josh take over fresh with all the momentum behind him and open air to give 2024 a real crack.

I guess there was just no way to achieve this though.

Extending Ken last year might honestly might be the worst decision anybody has taken since Hitler decided to invade Russia in Winter.

I’d still say he’d be a better coach than stinkly. He’d have strategy that’s for sure. Left field too.

Fair and you could probably put the same argument forward for half a dozen assitants we had over the last 12 years.

Personally I'm not in the hate Hinkley camp. Not many left in the world that would have the integrity to walk away from a high paying job without having alternative options.

You could argue Hardwick did, but he would have been fairly confident of another gig.

Not sure Ken would still have those options.

The Carr situation will be interesting. He's gone from "maybe the Messiah" to tainted love in 18 months

I'm so disengaged about the whole club right now, simply having someone who can put together a cognitive thought and, y'know maybe articulate that would be refreshing enough

Instead we have some AFL version of the Peter Beardsley character that Bob Mortimore does
