The decision to extend this useless hack's contract at the end of the 2017 season could very well go down as the greatest mistake in the history of the PAFC. Who would have thought that a stubborn bogan from country Victoria wasn't AFL coaching material? There's a reason several clubs knew 5 minutes into interviewing Hinkley that he wasn't right for them. Whereas for us back in 2012, it was more of a case of 'only man standing' after Leon chose the Giants.

I really feel like we're going to be in a world of pain in 5 years' time.

Was only a few weeks back Ken was in radio talking how Bill and Marshall are a future for our forward line moving forward.

The guy is a fraud, nobody wants him as coach, and I’m getting that from lots of people who don’t use social media at all.

Frampton wasn’t given an extended run to prove anything because Ken didn’t give him one, he just kept playing Sam Gray and a makeshift forward line while Dixon was injured.

Hope he goes to the Crows and gets a shit, he still looks like he’s developing to me.

Frampton was a supporter favourite too.

First time I can recall a player leaving by choice - we’ve now become the Crows.

This is only the beginning
F that. I am so sick of being hurt by this club and their stupid decision making. What is it about tall forwards that Ken just cannot abide?

When is Ken going to ask to be traded? because our moronic board sure as hell won't know how to get rid of him

We will finish 14-18th next season i reckon.

The clear silver lining to this is that despite the painful season we'll have to endure he'll either be sacked by mid-season (when finals are out of reach) or at the end of the season when he is out of contract.

The frustrating thing is that his position is already untenable and we have to play this asinine waiting game, hoping that we don't lose key young players in the meantime.

I wish we did to ensure it'd go beyond Ken not being renewed, for the long overdue review of the club from top to bottom to be hard to put off, but we'll limp to that 9-10 range (or worse 8th as other sides cop lots of injuries and there's a handful of good sides and we Bradbury into finals, lose and be stuck another year with him).

I wish I could believe that but just because Hinkley doesn't automatically trigger the third year of his latest contract extension it doesn't preclude Koch and the board from giving him yet another undeserved contract extension.

I hear you and fear similar... But I am holding on to the hope that if we have a diabolical season, coupled with the rightful fan resentment that already exists, they just won't be able to sell that to the overlords at AFL House.

But who knows, the current administration could further circle the wagons around him to try to avoid admitting mistakes were made, with the current administration you could really see it happening.

Agreed. I'm still believing that the club is going to bunker down on keeping Ken regardless of the outcome of the 2020 season. I feel that we have to stoop as low as 3rd to bottom or 5 wins for Ken to be sacked, and the boardroom will spill as well.

Simple question asked by Terry Wallace on radio this afternoon to Kane Cornes.

TW: Port Adelaide to finish 9th, over or unders?
KC: Interesting because obviously if they don't make the 8, Ken's contract clause won't be activated.

There is no way there can or will be a boardroom spill no matter how low we finish next season. The board members aren't going to vote to spill the board even if they could. If any AFL appointed board members quit because they are unhappy with what the AFL want them to do the AFL will simply appoint more compliant replacements.

It will be like when the SNAFL sacked Haysman and SNAFL appointees John Hood and Jane Jeffreys resigned because they were opposed to the SNAFL's plans for Ports.
