He won't be here next year. When the speculation is such that it's become an almost daily topic of conversation in the media, and the club is forced to issue a "he's our coach and he's contracted for next year" statement, the end is truly nigh. Show me a time in history when this much noise has surrounded the future of a coach and that coach has survived. It's never happened.

But new era Port are an anomaly. I won't accept him gone until it is official.

I don't care that we lost. Good result for the long term. Bring on another one next week!

Do you think he's stubborn enough to keep Hayes out until lycett is 75% fit and wheeled out.
Stubborn prick is probably going to mess with Hayes boots so he gets injured in the SANFL and doesn't need to be questioned why he isn't picking a ruckman

Lol literally every coach in history that's been axed has had the board come out with full backing before the inevitable.

He was asked to comment on the murmurings. What are we expecting him to say half way through the season?
When a coach has the full support of the board 99 times out of 100 they're a dead man walking. Unfortunately at Port when they say Hinkley has their full support they mean it.

lol - Dunstall making the case for Port to sign Hinkley for another 5 years.

Unbelievable. "Give him the chance to rebuild and have another crack".

I am lost for words. I actually quite like Dunstall as a commentator, but he's on drugs, surely.

Before the game I've heard him say the tigers are scary and we know with Charlie the ball will always be on the ground huh🤷 he should be ****ing marking it.
Also Chad bro said we are going in without a ruck because finlayson and SPP cover ground better 😂 and we will be more defensive in the midfield heck me.

Sounds about right. Not going anywhere anytime soon.

Basically the script for every closr game since Phil Walsh left the club.
Get close and revert to bombing it down the line to contest. on the rare occasion we do force a quick turnover going to an empty forward line or at best a small forward 2:1 .
Despite all his other failings, Hinkleys inability to learn from his own mistakes is what I hate most about him and the most damning evidence that he will never win anything

I think we wildly underestimate how positively he’s perceived by pretty much everyone outside of this enclave (and ecstatic Crows fans).

I can totally see Richardson, Koch and the Board tacking on another 12 months with incentive triggers. It’s nothing they haven’t done before.

Fully expect Port to be 6-9 after 15 games and no better than 7-11 after 18 - which would be curtains for Ken. Richo can say whatever he likes about Hinkley coaching here next year - it's equivalent to the "full support of the board" statements every under the pump coach gets before they're sacked.

Simple fact is that every club's board supports their staff in totality until they deem otherwise, and at that point they're immediately moved on.

It would be bigger news if Richo hadn't said what he said tonight.
