Saints in trouble again!

I'm not jumping to his defence but Demetriou was not the only one laughing at the joke! the entire panel was! Why single Demetriou out!
'these people' were there as entertainers and yet were upset about being "made fun of"? Were 'these people' there against their will? No! they were getting paid! and handsomely no doubt! Don't like it find another job! It's on par with a stripper going to a bucks party and complaining of being viewed as a sexual object! A clown upset about being laughed at by children!

Has the whole world gone completely f**king mad??????
I think you've missed the whole point of this.

Nothing shocks me with this club anymore. Nothing. I genuinely considered changing clubs mid way through this year. Not because we are rebuilding, i have been through the tough times before, i can handle that, but because of ALL the off field shit. Playing Ahmed, playing Stevie, Vegas, The schoolgirl. We are a joke. Everytime there is a scandal the natural assumption is its us and frankly we have earned that reputation. We are in a situation now where unless we throw the book at Clinton (and i mean sack him immediately) we will once again be a laughing stock.

This might seem like a hysterical reaction but we have such a bad recent track record that swift and extreme action is required otherwise everyone else will have a chuckle and go "that St.Kilda, what a bunch of f**kwits".

Haha it was in the shop when you get off the "Cylon/Human" roller coaster. Proof that you were too weak to go on it. ( My 14 yo daughter made me go on them - my first ever upside down roller coaster ).

LOL yes I did not go on it - I do have a good excuse as it was raining on the day I went so we had to give it a miss! I was only going to do the human as the Cylon looked insane!! Loved the Transformers 3D ride - best attraction in the park IMO!!

St Kilda Football Club wishes to advise that player Clinton Jones has offered his sincere apologies to entertainer Blake Johnston for an inadvertent action at a players' end of year celebration yesterday

"Inadvertant". Makes it sound like an accident, does the club want to clear this up or?

Surely it's not too hard to ask a 29 year old to act like an adult, is it?

If he stays on the list, as least give him more than a fine because that's pathetic. Suspend him for a few games next year and make him work to earn his spot back in the team. Unfortunately, with some of our players acting like children, they need to be treated like children. Take away something they love, like playing the game, like parents do with their naughty 5 year olds. Maybe then they'll learn.

I don't think so. Inadvertent is the word they've chosen to go with but Jones himself said: 'I made an error of judgement in including Mr Johnston in the activity.'

Plus others have reported that other players were angry with CJ's actions. Doesn't sound like an accident.

I have heard from my source that they were lighting each other on fire and putting it out straight away; and that the entertainers were involved, one of them, Johhnstone, got a burn on his thumb (probably from putting the fire off someone else's back out).

Yes we should have stood Milne down in 2005 and waited the 8 years for the police to get on top of it all.
And we should have made Saad stand down , effectively lengthening whatever punishment he gets , or punishing him for no reason if his b sample came out OK.

Nick Riewoldt sometimes has bad body language on field punish him.
Simpkin punched someone sack him.

Punish punish punish.

I am sick of Australia turning into a nanny state full of puritan idiots.
I am sick of idiots on the internet who think they know everything about everything from stupid media releases.

IF we lost a player because of this, we WOULD be a laughing stock. FFS all of the Essendon players are still playing..

Why would you even try and light each other anyway? Surely they have better things to do.... Seems not

Footballers are selected for size, strength and speed, not brains. Alcohol on top of this...

Yeah my whole family loved the Transformer. Cylon WAS insane.

I didn't say stand Milne down back then, we shouldn't have played him this year when it all came back. I understand innocent until proven guilty but its a bad look and it wasn't neccessary, same principle for Saad. Maybe they both get found guilty, but publicly and in the media it looks like we condone it. We as a club have an issue with off field behaviour and we are never SEEN to be doing anything about it.

Comparing us to Essendon, thats not a road i want to go down, i didn't sign up to be part of an arrogant cult like club who follow a demigod blindly.

Jason Gram and Andrew Lovett would disagree.

Keeping Milne out of the team prolonged the story, it meant every week at selection the papers would have another chance to write about it. If we stood him down permanently, which at his age is the same as sacking him, the AFL players association would kick up a stink. It was a no win situation that the club actually handled well in the end.

As for Saad, once the initial hysteria died down the more silly the whole situation looked. A substance he mixed into his drink that is banned only on game days? Given a slip like that could cost him the rest of his football career do you really begrudge the Saints giving him a couple more games?

By all means when players screw up they should be held accountable but to hell with what we're SEEN to be doing by the public and especially the media.

Mehh, who hasn't accidentally set a midget on fire at least once in their life! :D

The worst thing is its kind of addictive , set one dwarf on fire and you cant stop.

Note: Dwarves are different to short people, short people are more in proportion to their size.

Unfortunate timing for LEDified to run an ad last night , about how their products prevent fires.

Ashamed to admit it , but I laughed when I heard the story. Vlad laughed, but not for one minute do I believe his self-serving , sanctimonious explanation.Just would not do for him to admit a moment of weakness, would it ?

And why did Bruce hold his hand ? Does he want to be known as the Bride of Dracula?

And herein lies the problem, that our players moronic acts can and do have on our sponsors. No sponsor wants bad publicity, let alone to be ridiculed, because of their association with St Kilda.

If you want to be treated like professionals, then start acting like professionals.

Strange to see many of you think it is funny. Maybe pay a visit to a burns ward and see how funny that is.
Would CJ be laughing if one of his family get set alight?
