I prefer the 'happy clappers' moral compass than the so-called progressives who are hell bent on indoctrinating children about sexual deviancy, such as exposing 5 year olds to transmen at libraries and schools in order to normalise it.
Gosh, I wish Labor were really as cool as right-wing loons make them out to be.

My question was about the bolded bit. You said the people making money from investment properties are either younger than you or foreign (or both, perhaps). What is your evidence for this?

Oh, and anecdotes from your mates aren't evidence. I mean the hard facts, either through data or through proper pieces of journalism.
I said the biggest share of the property market are younger people and foreign investors. They don't just buy a house they buy big parcels of land to build rentals. My friends and negative gearing that's what they tell me. I assume they tell me the truth.

I disagree.

A Labor Opposition worth their skin would be saying "These tests are vital to the national health and the national economy, and it shouldn't even be debated as to whether or not they're free - any debate is an insult to our values as Australians, and if Morrison has the instinct to price average Aussies out of these tests, what's next?"

Yes they lost the 2019 election by playing big-target, but they nearly won the 2016 election on Medicare.

Health is an election winner for Labor. Fudging leadership on it is inexcusable.
It's actually staggering how big a free kick Labor were handed today, and of course they ballsed it up. This is why Albo still lags Scummo in preferred PM.

I voted more times for Labor than I have for the Liberals, whether you want to believe or not.

My disenchantment with Labor party has come in the last decade or so as the pandering of dubious sexual proclivities has ramped up. Labor no longer resembles the party that I first voted for; it's far to preoccupied with demonising men and catering to an ever growing list of so-called questionable minority causes.
You're such a victim as a straight male, hey? 😭😭

I asked for actual evidence. Do you have any?

I'd be wary of blindly repeating what friends say as the gospel truth, rather than taking 20 minutes to Google and check if that's the actual reality across most of the nation.

It is a clever answer. He doesn't say that the test should be free but says it is ok if they are. No blame and all gain. Just consider that it the decision of the the government not a party not able to make that decision.
I think in this case given the relatively low cost and growing problem he could have said yes. Small target (save big targets for second term) is good but this was an easy vote winner given he was put on the spot.

There's an explanation for why Albanese's response to that question wasn't an emphatic "Yes":

1. Scared of donors;
2. He's incompetent; or
3. Both

I think he's just too scared to upset any voting demographic. The Albo we knew under Gillard is long since dead, replaced by a mannequin with no personality, courage or vigour.

Just listened to this - Please Explain podcast - about the upcoming election.

Main thing to take away from this - The Age and SMH will be going super kids gloves on Morrison and co and targeting Albo as a nothing leader. Podcast is full of positive Morrison spin and how people on the ground still "love him." Unfortunately the days of The Age or SMH being a newspaper of record are sadly over.

So a suburb of rentals?

Mate are you attention deficient, I said they are friends of mine who negative geared a couple of houses about 6 or so years ago and havent seen much of a profit and were battling to cover costs. Don't need Google to find out because they told me, pretty sure they wouldn't have told Google.

> Government fu**s up
> Opposition Leader points it out
> Opposition Leader takes opposing stance to Government
> Opposition Leader weak

Well, OK then...

He's not a newly elected opposition leader hoping to scramble together a shadow cabinet and opposing for the sake of it.

He's the Prime Minister in waiting and squibbed a moment to lead.

There are about 12 people in the nation who oppose freely available RATs - 11 of them own pharmacies, and the other one is Rowan Dean.

It's a no brainer.

The follow up question, Albo basically answered with yes, tests should be free.

So on the second question, he "basically" said they should be free.

That's even worse!

"Yes"

And if he wants to add" they will be free under my government, and the fact we're even debating this shows where the Prime Minister's interests lie, and he's failing millions of Australians"

It's not hard. Unless he's compromised.

Big difference between a couple of houses (negatively geared rentals) & 'They don't just buy a house they buy big parcels of land to build rentals. My friends and negative gearing that's what they tell me.'

With respect you dont appear to understand whatever it is they told you.

Why do you keep trying to change the subject away from your claim that the people making money are usually younger or foreign? For some reason you keep talking about your mates' personal circumstances instead.

And yes, you do need Google to find some things out, because even if you were answering my question, your friends aren't the sum total of people in the nation. If my friends were all tap dancers, would it be realistic for me to extrapolate from that and say Australia is a nation with huge numbers of tap dancers?
