Welcome to High Stakes Qooty with your host TheInjuryFactory!

The action is heating up as the season starts to take shape, with the winners and losers starting to make their moves as we head into a crucial phase of the new season. Some teams have had a dream run, others a bum hand, but all have played the cards they've been dealt as they jockey for position in Season 29. Is it time to chase your luck and let it ride, or is it time to roll the dice and take your chances?

It's make or break time, this is High Stakes Qooty!*

*Please gamble responsibly.

Hosts the Roys enjoyed a thumping victory against the top four Dragons at Dragon Island, as they dominated the opposition in the first half to open up a handy buffer, running away winners by 65 points in a commanding display. The win showing that despite their ladder position, sitting at 2-3 in 9th spot, the club has the buy in of the playing group and they can well and truly hold their own against the top sides in the competition. Rookie star PurpleGreenRed best afield for the club with his 27 touch and 4 goal effort overpowering the Dragons in what became a demolition job.

They host the Swamprats whose hot streak came to a screeching halt on Sunday, as they crapped out against a rampant Furies side, going down by 37 points at their spiritual home of Alberton Oval after failing to fire in the first half. Despite the loss, they still hang on to top spot, with a game in hand over the 2nd placed Demons. Flying at 4-1, they will be hoping the weekend’s loss was an aberration as replicating their first month of qooty would set them up for another deep finals campaign in S29. Kirkswan the standout against the Furies, his 28 touches and 2 goals keeping the Furies honest. They’ll be hoping their big guns fire and they can return to the winner’s circle in Round 6.

:hearts::diamonds::spades::clubs: The King :hearts::diamonds::spades::clubs:

RunkROYS

Roys midfielder Runk is enjoying quite the Season 29 at BJO, with the Roys veteran getting his hands dirty in the guts. His 23.8 disposals per game place him just outside the top ten, as he currently sits #11 in the competition. Expect a big day from him and if he gets plenty of pill, expect the Roys to win.

NunezSwamprats

The S27 Mobbs Medallist is back to his best after a middling Season 28 at Sin City. At his best the Swampies firebrand is one of the best in the business, and in a powerful midfield, he stands tall in Season 29 as the prime mover. His 22 disposals per game placing him at #22 in the competition and he looks like building as the season progresses in ominous signs for the competition.

:hearts::diamonds::spades::clubs: The Ace :hearts::diamonds::spades::clubs:

MoochROYS

The S28 FRED medallist once again heads up the Roys attack, and looks on track to challenge for the award once again in Season 29. Stiff to miss out on All-SFA selection last season, he'll be in the frame again if his early season form is anything to go by. Has notched 16 majors this season going at 4.0 per game, which places him at #5 in the comp.

SarahSmilesSwamprats

Swampies full forward SS remains one of the league's most dangerous forwards having spent the past few seasons spearheading the attack, including the S27 premiership winning side. With 10 goals this season going at 3.3 per game, he finds himself at #15 in the competition. Will be looking to bounce back heavily after being well held in Rd 5, managing just the three majors.

:hearts::diamonds::spades::clubs: The Joker :hearts::diamonds::spades::clubs:

JackNah_8ROYS

Roys ruck JackNah_8 resumes the mantle in Season 29, having finished S28 as one of the premier rucks in the competition. The former Furies tyro averages 8.8 hitouts per game, placing at #11 in the league, and with 17.8 disposals per game, is more than capable of creating problems for the opposition around the ground.

GotTheGoodesSwamprats

The S28 All-SFA winger GTG has continued his rich vein of form into the new season, as he's once again enjoying plenty of midfield minutes on the wide expanses of the Underground Stadium. At his best he's a game breaker, but he's added a hard edge to his game in S29, seeing him register 32 tackles already this season, at 8.0 per game, making him the #1 tackler in the game.

Captains, please remember to post your team sheets in the Official Team Sheet thread by 11.59pm Thursday AEST.

Requiem - Runk being the Roys’ King just further highlights my point about the retirement village thing . You were robbed I Dont Care (and I’m posting because as you know , I do care ).

Nunez being The King makes further mockery of the system but credit where it’s due for SarahSmiles being an Ace. Poor philreich couldn’t even crack the joker but GotTheGoodes is a decent alternative.

Our Sweet Surrender Retirement Village recently got a new resident in the form of an elderly ex-gymnast. She's getting a bit daft in her old age and still thinks she's performing routines, which has led to a few issues. Not least are the bathrooms which ... well they need more frequent cleaning than before. I asked the centre management folks how it's possible she was creating such a mess in the lavatory and they said it was a problem with salts.
"What, epsom salts?" I asked.
"Nah," was the reply, "somersaults."

Great write up TheInjuryFactory. Appropriately we are on our longest winning streak for quite some time. This week we're looking to extend that streak to 2. It's nosebleed territory for the Roys and the stakes are high. The steaks on the other hand, have yet to be prepared because the blender is on the fritz.

It’s a well known fact that I was only awarded this.....award because my mother made cucumber sandwhiches was for the Hammersmith Cheesewheel constabulary. It was prestigious then as much as it is now. And now it’s mine.

It's the Roys this week! Whilst most of them don't own colour TVs and haven't broken a sweat since last century. They're very good value. Get in here and enjoy a great week

Such is the strength of this Rats team, youngsters Leviathan Pie and Rich the babe Evans have each only experienced 1 loss in their whole careers. (ignore the fact that they've only played 5 and 1 respectively).

What makes you think I wear anything to work? And don't you know anything - it's ruour.........

So philreich and Nunez
What were your feelings when you won the Mobbs medal?
Here’s my speech from the night:

I'd like to thank my parents - especially Mum and Dad. I'd like to thank my friends - both of them. And I'd also like to thank myself, for being so brilliant. However I'd also like to say that I don't deserve such a prestigious award. That's what I'd LIKE to say, but if it's what I WERE to say, I'd be lying.
