Every season, the EKA Medal is awarded to the rookie player whom the Committee representatives vote to be the best performed poster amongst that seasons class. The EKA is named after former administrator from seasons 2-4 EaglesKickAss, and has been awarded since Season 8. Some of the best Qootiers of all time have won this award, including The Half Back, pantskyle, brahj, Wosh and Elton Johns Wig, all of whom went on to bigger and better things.

We had a vibrant and active rookie class this season. A total of 24 rookies were nominated for this seasons EKA; ImissFrosty, HirdsTheWord, Ticky009, hotchilli, thewizardmelon, Soggy2112, CursingFijian, Electronic_Renaissance, darthmann, @enigmal v3, mike ross, damicky, the tick, Brenton Davy, Dory_77, Dancing Potato, krakouers85, Pickitt, Lore, Bluelegs, DJ75, Snuffaluphagus, Cats_R_Cool_4_Ever & RPCB

However, only one be the winner of the prestigious EKA (Well, not entirely, but we have never had a tied EKA). Each captain sent their 3-2-1 votes for best performing rookie privately via PM to decide the top performing rookie:

In 3rd place, on a total of 10 votes is East Side Phoenix youngster thewizardmelon. This snappy rookie was a favourite among punters early and impressed with his witty banter in match threads and not being shy to give posters a decent wack.

The runner up, scoring a total of 17 votes is Gold City Royals rookie krakouers85. Krakouers showed a high level of engagement in the league throughout the season and show great initiative in getting opposition involved in match threads. He has also dabbled in media playing a major part in his skippers Superleague and his parody of Damien Barretts "sliding doors".

and without further ado, the winner of the Season 32 EKA Medal, with a total of 23 votes is Mount Buller Demons rookie damicky. It's been an interesting season for this rising star. Damicky made his debut for the Fighting Furies and was traded to the Demons in exchange for fellow rookie ImissFrosty during the mid season trade period. D showed keen interest in getting the league and the people in it from day one. He made himself known around the league through his "cheese" persona in match threads and gaining the attention of league captains through his interview series, one that got better in each edition he posted.

The Frankston Rover award (also known as the admin suck up award), recognises a person who has contributed in an outstanding fashion to the running of the league. Named after League Hall of Famer Frankston Rover, the historical honours reads as a who’s who of the league – names such as Ljp86 (3 times), Hate thrice, Broken and Mobbs himself (twice). This award is an Admins choice award.

As I did last season, I would like to take this time to firstly, appreciate everyone who has put in the hard yards to continue making this league run smoothly. Firstly to the committee for all their work in making the league run, to the Simmers, Dingster, Barrybran, Mozzie19 and match posters philreich, Wosh & FootyGuy13 for their hard work each week. To Hate for his continual excellent work on the archives, Ljp86 and serial_thrilla for their continued ladder and statistics work.

Now, for the Frankston Rover. I am going to go a little bit unconventional here (and since it is the only award I have full control over, I am well within my right to) and award it to someone who is not a listed player. This person may not be listed, but he has contributed a great deal to this great league, not only from his time as admin, but even during retirement. Congratulations to the S32 FR Medal winner Kennedy Parker. As you all know, the current sim is quite outdated and KP has volunteered much of his time to learn coding in Python in order to bring us a new and improved Sim for use in future season. He was a major part in getting the HoF subboard off the ground (after yours truly admitted he had no idea what he was doing).​

Who knew you'd be better in retirement.

SM kicked a late goal to win the qootballing against the Swamprats. Marlowe played his 250th. The Gumbies begin their advance towards finals, moving off the bottom of the ladder for the first time since Round 3. I have such hairy toes.@Ljp86 had a monster game with 30 and 3 accompanied by 10 marks. Wosh kicked a trio herself from the ruck. It's amazing to think that we've almost finished Round 14 of the count, and it's still so close and the crowd is behaving really well and we'll probably get our deposit back. The round belonged to Tarkyn_24 as he became the first player in league history to kick 1,000 career goals but his Demons went down to the Phoenix by 32 points. The Dragons stretched their winning streak to five games as they defeated the Bombers by 11 points to cement their spot at the top of the ladder heading into the final round. The Warriors had a day out against the Swamprats piling on a massive 162 points behind BEEG (8 goals), Tonga Bob (27 hitouts, 25 disposals), Raveneyes (33 disposals, 6 tackles, 7 frees for, 4 goals) and TheInjuryFactory (35 disposals, 5 tackles). Meanwhile, the Furies had a day to forget, kicking their lowest score in club history against the Gumbies. The Bears kept their finals hopes alive with a nailbiting one-point win over the Royals and the Roys defeated the Wonders by 32 points.

who cares about 11 goals, everyone knows the fans just want to know about how many tackles the Ruck Rovers made. That is what the Mobbs night is all about.

All teams had a chance of playing finals entering the final round for the first time since season 20. Four of the top five teams lost, opening the door for teams below them. The Dragons sealed the minor premiership despite losing to the Gumbies courtesy of losses to the Roys and Demons. Mooch chased down Proper Gander to tie for the Fred Medal after Proper Gander lead by a whopping 13 goals midway through the season. The Phoenix secured their spot in the finals with an 11-point win over the Warriors at home. Meanwhile, the Bears 29-point win over the Wonders wasn’t good enough to earn them a place in the eight due to other results. And the Bombers lost by 40 points to the Swamprats to cap off a season they’d rather forget after playing in the Grand Final in season 31.

I declare the winner of the S32 Mobbenfuherer Medal to be TheInjuryFactory of the Coney Island Warriors. After missing out last season by a single vote, TIF had another dominate season at Rover and proved himself as one of the best mids in the competition in what was a a poor season for the Warriors. He is the Warriors first Mobbs Medalist since S21.

Overall, TiF finished 1st in tackles, 4th in disposals, 5th in kicks and 2nd for DT. His most dominate performance for the season came in R3 in his teams 55 point smashing of the Swamprats, 31 possessions, 12 tackles and 2 goals.

Ladies and gentlemen, please raise your glasses and toast the winner of the S32 Mobbenfuhrer medal, TheInjuryFactory.
