I wouldn’t say they have been in weaker leagues I’d say there been in similar standards league and as for Berwick they went into premier EFL when they should of started in Div 1 like Beaconsfield i suppose it’s easier for Narre to attract juniors from those clubs around them most want to play for well run clubs that are good sides and good ground and excellent facilities

100% they’ve been in weaker leagues. Next year will be a big step up from Outer East, be interesting to see how they go.

cranny won the flag in there first season in the SFNL
they never won a flag in outer east
the SFNL have played the RDFL quite a few times over recent years and never really dominated them and I'd say the OUTER EAST and RDFL are similar standard
true the southern is getting better
but i rekon you may have egg on your faces next year with narre they will go very close to winning the comp

I see Paul Amy is tipping that Charlie Clarke (recently delisted by the Western Bulldogs) will be off to Port Melbourne VFL next year.

If so, will be interesting to see whether he might play a few games for the Colts when Port have the bye / split round, given his past and family connections at the Colts. Would be very handy.

I’m not saying they’ll necessarily be bad, but they are definitely making a step up. Quite possible they come in and be there on GF day, but it won’t be as easy as the Outer East.

Cheltenham also completely blew it in 2022 and almost did again in 2023 where they needed an almighty comeback to win

Well you think a club like Glen Eira would join Southern with all the players there got maybe they will join it once there new pavilion is built?
Same goes for Ormond and Elsternwick.
Here's something that will rattle bedford cage.
Here's Glen Eira council's 2022 order of priority for redeveloping/renovating the existing facilities that was updated from 2017.
Greg Tivendale also look away now. If McKinnon Reserve is No 6 then you're at least 3 years away from 'community feedback' & a concept design.
bedford that 'bomb shelter' baseball pavilion miles ahead of the main pavilion

$2.2m invested into the cycling track not the main pavilion, whic doesn't need upgrading compared to most on the lst below

Intrigued as to why the 3 of you disagreed with a post that I was simply intrigued over. As a Stolen Generation Aboriginal I saw the name Stolen Generation being attributed to a football team and was inquiring what the links were and how the name came about. I had no angst against the name, no issue with it, was simply intrigued as to how it came about. Seriously.

A discussion about local football and someone is trying to turn it into something else. Go to the politics board if you want to discuss that.

Not trying to turn it to anything. I simply asked a reasonable question why the team was labelled with Stolen Generation. It is not something I hear in football so was intrigued as to why. If I wanted to turn it in to something else, I would have said how sad that the term Stolen Generation is being linked to a football club. I did not do this I simply asked. It is ok to label the term Stolen Generation but not ok to ask how they came about that. Just ridiculous, need to keep reminding myself, don't ask. Know my place, Out of here,

fair bit of angst in the area as district clubs have been unable to field u19s sides or field rather weak ones (Murrumbeena and Bentleigh being the exceptions) whereas glen eira have been able to put multiple u19s sides on the park despite not having a junior club, which suggests thay may have 'stolen' all the juniors. As someone involved at a district club in the area that hasn't had a 19s for a while our main problem isn't glen eira taking the 19s, it's the old boys clubs

Cheers really appreciate the response and giving me some clarity on it. I just wasn’t sure what the name was referring to. Thanks so much again.

Good right up m8 Martin is definitely playing at Springvale and Cranbourne have lost 3or4 senior players to Skye and i know Narre will lose there best player young toner to vfl or might get drafted but they lose players regularly to other clubs and seem to replace them no problem with out paying much most are locals from other junior clubs or there own juniors

Not the SFL anymore
Clyde? They reckon the Ammo's travel. Clubs are going to have to start hiring buses for some of these away games. South East Regional Football League sounds about right.

All the Combines 19s are now overage i would think . St Pauls will get 19s back , Ormond 19s 1st year back made finals and will be strong again

Vampires look like they will have a 19’s next year too. There is a possibility that clubs can get a 19’s up and going, it just takes a lot of work and dedication from all involved.

agreed should be called that sides have been travelling that far for ages nothing new clubs used to travel to Cerberus and Clyde is no further than south Mornington for most clubs these clubs that our out further do more travelling than anyone else when they play away at one stage even Brooklyn were in the league before they folded

As much as I want Mckinnon reserve upgraded I also don't want to as then we lose access more so as council start renting it out for functions etc. I do think there's scope for a netball court especially considering we are now fielding 4 teams!

Don’t forgot Soccer they have political pull no matter what council it is and I’m hearing councils are very much considering pull up Turf wickets to save on cost too.

Staggering that St Pauls have never had their facilities upgraded for such a successful club , the place hasn’t changed since Moorabbin VFA played there 40 years ago !!

We got a small changeroom and bathroom upgrade etc but it's purely bandaid fixes.

Our main rooms definitely in need for some love and a second level would make for great watching at the Kennel.
